Since his promotion to Captain on March 21, 2025, John Kingsman – known to us as James – has built a truly formidable record of sustained activity and leadership that reflects the very best of Bravo Fleet. Promotion to Fleet Captain is a milestone that represents not just achievement but trust in a member’s ability to lead, mentor, and shape the fleet moving forward. For James, his record over this period makes it clear that he has more than earned this next step!
Over the course of this period he has been awarded the Jonathan Archer Order of Merit and the Legion of Merit, two honours that together reflect extraordinary levels of activity across multiple areas of the fleet.
But since then, James has not rested on his laurels but embellished them! This is keenly represented in their recent victories in our Fleet Action: Crossroads, taking four Starfleet Silver Stars for placing second in every stage of the writing ribbon race! These victories are alongside forty Crossroads Challenge Coins, and – in the final counting – securing overall third place in the writing with over eighty-thousand words of a riveting mission for the USS Vigilant. A spectacular and inspiring performance during the entire Fleet Action! But then James has remained deeply engaged outside of events, creating three competitions and entering no less than fifty-eight, earning one Action Medal with Galaxy Cluster for first place in the New Frontiers campaign’s writing ribbon race. This level of participation, paired with the work of creating competitions for others to enjoy, demonstrates a personal drive to contribute and a clear investment in keeping the wider fleet active and engaged.
More than anything, a defining strength of James’s service is their prolific and wonderful prose. Through this work they have earned five hundred and seventeen Service Ribbons, a remarkable output that reflects both volume – over one hundred and twenty thousand words! – and consistency over an extended period. While James has a whirlwind of ships that they have written with, every story from the Kirk to the Vigilant, Vanguard and Vega, are immersive and evocative prose to be proud of!
Moreover, James can be expected to contribute in every facet of fleet life, championing it all with his particular brand of enthusiasm, good humour, and enjoyment of tribbles. This includes earning six Combat Action Ribbons, showing a willingness to contribute to the fleet’s shared spaces. But where James’s impact has been clearly felt by many was in his leadership. During this period he served five months as Task Force Commanding Officer of Task Force 72, a role that requires balancing the needs of its members with the wider goals of the fleet, and his time in that position reflects the trust placed in him to do exactly that. After stepping down, there was no decrease in his pride and cheerleading for the Task Force that matters the most to him, and that fondness is reflected back at him by all members of the Task Force.
This promotion recognises both what he has already accomplished and what he will continue to bring to Bravo Fleet. James is one of the best of us, and so it is with great pride that we recommend John Kingsman, James, for promotion to the rank of Fleet Captain. Congratulations!
The rank of Captain is one of the most sought-after honors in Bravo Fleet, a milestone that signifies not just experience but also an unwavering commitment to the organization. Achieving this rank requires a member to demonstrate exceptional dedication, perseverance, and leadership. Trevenan Williams, better known as James on Discord, has exemplified these qualities time and again, making his promotion to this prestigious rank feel not just well-earned, but long overdue.
At the start of the year, a new era began for Task Force 72 as Trevenan transitioned from his role as Executive Officer—where he had served diligently for nearly eight months—to take command as its Commanding Officer. From the moment he stepped into this leadership position, his infectious enthusiasm and deep engagement with the community have elevated the Task Force, helping it grow beyond what it was before. His passion for fostering an active and welcoming environment, whether through thought-provoking discussions or his always-popular trivia, has made a lasting impact. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was awarded the Starfleet Medal for Commendation—an honor reserved for those who go above and beyond in service to the Fleet.
Trevenan’s recent promotion to Commander was already a testament to his dedication, yet in the short time since, he has set a new standard of excellence. His contributions have been nothing short of extraordinary: writing an astounding 95,000 words of solo fiction, competing in roughly 40 different competitions, and actively engaging with fellow members in numerous fleet-wide initiatives. His commitment to participation and creativity earned him not only a Silver Palm but also the prestigious Star for Distinguished Service!
For these outstanding accomplishments and so much more, we are honored to promote Trevenan Williams to the rank of Captain. His journey to this milestone has been marked by relentless passion, leadership, and an inspiring drive to give back to the community. Congratulations, Captain Williams, and welcome to the Captaincy!
Since his last promotion on April 16th, Lieutenant Commander Trevenan Williams, more commonly known as James, has been very active and has reached the point of being promoted to the rank of Commander! Although it has been a short while since his last award, James has worked extremely hard over the previous four months with his activities.
On June 15th, James earned the Meritorious Service Cross for participating in many Bravo Fleet activities. Writing has been something that James has enjoyed doing. Thus, he has earned one hundred and twenty-five Service Ribbons for his writings on his command, the USS Savannah, and a Duty Ribbon for his writings with other fleet members. He has also earned seven Joint Action Ribbons for playing games with other members, explicitly playing games of UNO. Not only that, James also entered one competition and organised the ‘Training Day’ competition.
On August 7th, James earned the Star Cross for his participation in the latest Fleet Action Labyrinth, in which he earned thirty-four Challenge Coins for his involvement in just as many competitions. James has also placed in some competitions, earning four Starfleet Gold Stars, one Starfleet Bronze Star, and one Starfleet Silver Star. Again, writing has come naturally to him, earning two hundred and fifteen Service Ribbons. James has also earned twenty-five Joint Action Ribbons for playing Connect 4 with other fleet members. This helped TF72 take 2nd place within the Fleet Action. Since this last award, James has also entered four competitions.
James has not only excelled in his personal achievements but also demonstrated exceptional leadership as the Executive Officer of Task Force 72. His encouragement has led to increased participation in the many activities of members of TF72. James has been on top of submitting many nominations for promotions and awards of fellow members, further enhancing TF72’s performance since he took over the position of Task Force Executive Officer three months ago. James has also been hard at work assisting with creating Task Force assets for TF72.
For all these activities during the four months, I am proud to nominate Lieutenant Commander Trevenan Williams for the rank of full Commander! Congratulations, keep on striving for the best! Woot!
