Pathfinding Renewed
“War is hard, but rebuilding is harder,” mused an aged rear admiral as he stared out the wide sweeping window at the stars that lay beyond. They looked so peaceful, hanging there in the night sky, but that was merely the illusion of distance. He knew the reality was far different.
“Across the sector, the ships of the Fourth Fleet are engaged in efforts to rebuild infrastructure damaged in the conflict,” explained a young captain, her tone straightforward and businesslike in sharp contrast to the more contemplative tenor of her boss. “Each day, we receive positive reports of the progress being made.”
“It is not the factories and refineries that I worry most about,” Rear Admiral Alex Grayson cautioned as he turned to his assistant. “It’s the people.”
Captain Elsie Drake stared at the new commander of Task Force 47 quizzically. She’d risen through the ranks during the relative peace of the nineties. She knew not the scars that war could leave. Rear Admiral Grayson, on the other hand, knew those scars all too well, especially from this enemy. He’d seen what they could do in the seventies, and they would be central to the challenge that lay ahead.
“So what’s the plan then?” Captain Drake asked, not sure where he was going with this.
“Under our task force mandate of pathfinding operations, it is our responsibility to set up the mechanisms for the Fourth Fleet to relaunch its engine of exploration,” Rear Admiral Grayson explained. “That means the physical infrastructure to support expeditionary operations – from frontier maintenance facilities to deep space comms relays – and it also means rebuilding relationships with our colonies and neighbors so our explorers have safe shores at their back.”

Task Force Updates
Between The Lost Fleet and Frontier Day, the last six months have been an exciting time!
Task Force 47 achieved third place in The Lost Fleet, our most recent Fleet Action, and our very own Commodore Alexandra Sudari-Kravchik brought home gold with the highest individual score across the entire event. From convincing skeptical neighbors to come to our aid, liberating Nasera and destroying Deptrok Six to helping our sisterships deliver a message from the modern day Dominion and holding the line at the Battle of Farpoint in the waning hours of the crisis, the commands of Task Force 47 rose to their duty. Now that the day is won, please remember to update the relevant Deneb Sector wiki articles with your proceedings.
In Task Force 47, we haven’t been resting on our laurels since the last Fleet Action either. Immediately after the Lost Fleet’s retreat, we explored how our ships and crews experienced the horrors of Frontier Day, and now many of our commands are returning to the scene of the Lost Fleet crisis to explore the aftermath as part of our latest Priority Mission, the Ashes of Deneb. If you’re looking for opportunities to get involved, check out the fiction post in full or reach out in the #tf47-lounge on Discord.
At a macro level, we’ve also had the opportunity over the last six months to welcome a number of new members into our ranks. To each of you, welcome! I’d like to give a particular shout out to those of you who have reached the rank of Midshipman and are now taking the plunge with a Command of your own, and well as to our senior members who reached new heights in their journeys and are now taking advantage of the Squadron system.
Since the last update, the leadership team of Task Force 47 has changed as well. Long-serving Commodore Alexandra Sudari-Kravchik moved over to the Intelligence Office, and Commander Taavik transitioned out. In their place, Fleet Admiral Alex Grayson took on the role of Task Force 47 Commanding Officer, and Captain Kr’Antren is now stepping into the role of Task Force 47 Executive Officer.
Fiction Updates
Atlantis Squadron: After difficult negotiations and tense moments, the USS Atlantis managed to assemble an alliance of Romulan, Klingon and Tholian forces to support the Fourth Fleet in its battle against the Lost Fleet. After retaking Leonis from the Dominion, the task group rushed to Deneb, arriving at a critical moment during the Battle of Farpoint. The timely arrival helped tip the scales and secured victory for the Federation. After the Lost Fleet crisis, the Atlantis responded to a distress call from a Cardassian ship that had become stuck in the upper layers of a gas giant while rendering aid to a science vessel. When the crew arrive, they found themselves in a sticky situation involving the Cardassians and the Breen.
USS Cardiff: As the Lost Fleet crisis began, the USS Cardiff set off in search of technology that might aid in the fight against the Lost Fleet. In the Paxtar system, the Cardiff discovered ancient alien technology that might give them an edge. As the crew worked to integrate these systems into the ship, they encountered a beleaguered California-class vessel in need of assistance. Through clever thinking, they bailed their sistership out of a tight spot, but delayed their return to the Deneb Sector with the newly discovered technology until after the Lost Fleet had ended its campaign.
Dragon Squadron: During the Lost Fleet crisis, the USS Dragon was tasked with gathering intelligence on the Breen and hampering their supply chain by attacking the Dilithium mines on Deptrock Six. The Dragon found and disrupted a Breen fleet construction operation near the Vadlox Nebula, and it then went on to destroy the mines on Deptrock Six and to free approximately 2500 slaves and prisoners of war held there. After the crisis, the Dragon made a quick trip back to the Thomar Expanse, where it was joined by the USS Aztec to form Dragon Squadron. They are now returning to the Deneb Sector on a mission to resettle refugees and explore areas near Izar in search of infrastructure left behind by the Lost Fleet.
Polaris Squadron: The USS Polaris and her sisterships executed a counteroffensive to retake the Nasera System from the Lost Fleet. Through a daring covert operation, a pitched space battle, and a brutal ground fight, the squadron succeeded, but not without incurring significant damage and loss of life. In the aftermath, the USS Polaris, USS Ingenuity and USS Diligent remained over Nasera to render humanitarian assistance, while a small team transferred aboard the USS Serenity to run sabotage operations behind enemy lines. Ultimately, the USS Serenity aided the USS Mariner, USS Andromeda and USS Valhalla in delivering modern Vorta to the Lost Fleet in the Ciatar Nebula, helping end the conflict, and then, as the Lost Fleet turned back for the Gamma Quadrant, Admiral Reyes turned the USS Serenity for Earth. As Admiral Reyes and her team searched for answers about why the Federation had sat idle during the Lost Fleet conflict, they became embroiled in a set of events that ultimately ended up being part of the Frontier Day conspiracy.
Roosevelt Station: In an attempt to deny Starfleet of its communications and surveillance infrastructure, the Lost Fleet launched an assault on Roosevelt Station. Stretched for resources, the Starfleet response was delayed, leading to a pitched battle, but creative thinking and diligence from the crew saw the survival of the station.
USS Sojourner: After the arrival of the Lost Fleet, the Fourth Fleet ordered the USS Sojourner to go behind enemy lines and gather information related Dominion positions. While on their mission, the crew of the Sojourner managed to remove a microscopic device that had caused an imbalance in its regulators. While in the Deneb region, the Sojourner received the news of the attack at Frontier Day and the revelation of the Changeling plot within Starfleet.
