Newly promoted Rear Admiral James McCallister has built crews, run missions, and stared down countless enemies. None of it prepared him for what awaits him now.

With the Odyssey Flotilla taking its final shape, new vessels and their captains are about to join the formation; one trusted crew is being reassigned to a ship that hasn’t been finished yet, and James still doesn’t have the people he needs closest to him to run the entire show. When Captain Zobrella provides him with a list of recommendations that reaches straight back into his past, James has to decide whether the people who knew him before he wore an admiral’s pips are the ones he can trust to help him become one.
