Polaris Advanced Research Squadron

USS Polaris • 6 Commands • Managed by FADM James Neidlinger

Polaris Squadron is a multi-mission flag squadron under the command of Fleet Admiral Allison Reyes that supports two specialized units and three overall mission profiles:

  • The Advanced Science, Technology and Research Activity (ASTRA), a specialized cross-functional research unit that exists to fuel Starfleet’s innovation engine through discovery, investigations and interactions on the frontier.
  • The Advanced Unit for Reconnaissance, Operations and Response Activities (AURORA), a special operations unit that exists to collect intelligence and conduct clandestine operations within the borderlands and wherever else the mission leads.
  • Archanis Sector Operations, including engineering, diplomatic and security functions as the Fourth Fleet seeks to rehabilitate aging infrastructure, strengthen relationships with borderlands colonies and neighboring powers, and strengthen its security posture within the sector.

The flagship of Polaris Squadron is the USS Polaris, an Odyssey-class heavy explorer that hosts the Advanced Science, Technology and Research Activity, and the headquarters of Polaris Squadron is Archanis Station, a Canopus-class starbase from whence sector operations of the Archanis Sector are managed.
