Since their promotion to Lieutenant Commander on April 3, 2025, Hrelle ‘Runt’ M’Hark, known to many as Bear, has continued to demonstrate steady growth, commitment, and leadership within Bravo Fleet. Their record over the past several months shows not only sustained activity but an increasing readiness for greater responsibility, making this the right moment to recommend them for promotion to the rank of Commander.
Their contributions during this period have already been recognized with the Medal of Achievement, the Starfleet Medal of Commendation, and the Meritorious Service Cross, reflecting the consistent effort and impact they have had across the fleet.
As commanding officer of the USS Morro Bay, Runt has earned 118 Service Ribbons through their solo fiction. Their latest mission, Helios, placed the crew in the Drekar System after being pulled through an unstable wormhole, forcing them to confront a dying star, unstable space, and the moral weight of deciding the fate of the Kaelthri people. The story balanced cosmic-scale stakes with crew division and ethical tension, showcasing Runt’s ability to handle high-concept science fiction while grounding it in character-driven conflict. With the recent transition of their crew to the USS Unification, we look forward to seeing that same narrative ambition continue under their new command.
Runt’s presence in fleet gaming has been just as consistent. They have earned 27 Joint Action Ribbons and 69 Combat Action Ribbons. Whether joining us for Codenames, Jackbox, or other Security Office events, they bring a noticeable energy and enjoyment to every session. They’ve additionally entered 7 competitions and stepped up to run one of their own, Task Force 21’s Very Own Word Search! Their enthusiasm helps make those events welcoming and lively, strengthening not just participation numbers but the community atmosphere itself.
Leadership has also been a defining part of this period. Over the last three months Runt has served as Task Group Commanding Officer of Task Group 97 in Task Force 21. Stepping into a role that requires coordination, communication, and support of fellow members and in that capacity they have provided steady oversight and encouragement while balancing their own active participation across the fleet.
Taken together this record reflects an officer who continues to expand both their contributions and their leadership presence. Runt has shown the consistency, initiative, and responsibility expected of a senior officer and their continued growth makes them well suited for the next step. It is with confidence and appreciation that I recommend Hrelle ‘Runt’ M’Hark for promotion to the rank of Commander. Congratulations!
