It took some work, clearing from the docking personnel and getting the supplies ready for the go until she finally could inspect the Jaxartes and see why this ship had been here for quite some time. The USS Jaxartes was used in various scientifical and operational missions that contribute not that much to the overall daily operations of Starfleet in the sector. Still, it was the task that just had to be done. Sazra was wondering why the ship was not used for at least three years.

The people were passing the entrance of the Jaxartes by as Sazra was standing there armed with a PADD in her hand that contained most information about this ship. She took a deep breath and walked into the ship as the door slowly opened  Sazra eyes the slow opening door and sighed. “Great start ” She muttered as she walked into the ship. The ship was, well, no easy way to say, but in a derelict state as it was missing panels, the floor was ripped out on certain parts, and there were burning spots on the wall that indicated an apparent plasma flow overload.

Sazra swallowed her fear and moved on to the bridge area as the door slides, this time relatively easy. Sazra strolled into an empty bridge, it was stripped apart for parts, and she dropped to the floor onto her knees. “You got to be joking me….they gave a hobby ship” She looked around the bridge or what was left of it, and it was a sad sight to see. She looked at the PADD and noticed the name that was signed off this ship “Praugol to Lieutenant Orgal”

“This is Orgal. What can I do for you, miss Praugol”

“I am in the USS Jaxartas that your department assigned into my care, but this ship is far from operational standards, and I got a science assignment that needs to be completed” She was about the cry.

“Jax?” It went quiet for a moment .“Oh, you got the Jaxartas. Well, someone gotta hate ya up in the chain, miss Praugol. That ship has seen better days”.

“BETTER DAYS?! It has seen its days….the ship is stripped of parts. I am standing here in a freaking skeleton!” The frustration was getting to her “Sorry…” She”took a”deep breath.

“I understand the frustration, and my database said that it is better how it is now than it was before. The ship’s last mission was to investigate a plasma nebula and get hit by it due to clumsy helmsmen. Most of the equipment was fried and the USS Excalibur, bless their name, was in the neighborhood to drag it back here”.

She rubs the front of her face trying to calm down “What do I need to do to get this ship operational” She finally spoke to the Lieutenant.

“I wish I could help you, but I got like seven ships in line for refit or repairs, and yours is not on it. So I can spare supplies and materials. Maybe an engineer that is willing to help out for a few hours. But miss Praugol, you get dirty and start working on it yourself”.

“I am not an Engineer Lieutenant. I am a bloody scientist” She shrugs and slams onto the ground. “I need all the help I can get”

“Then start getting your crew, miss Praugol. They can help you. Lieutenant Orgal out,” The line want quiet as the ship cracking sound was filled into the empty void of silence.

Sazra exhaled for a moment while closing her eyes and tapped then again her combadge, doubting to make the request “Praugol to Valerio are still on the base?” She waits for the voice of this man.

“What’s up Sazra….you need something?” She finally heard, and a weak smile appeared on her face.

“Oh, you have no idea how glad I am to hear your cranky ass voice. I need your help.”

“Help? The great Praugol is asking me…the sloppy engineer, for help. I believe those were your words?”

Sazra regretted saying it to him, but he was her last hope. “Yes…” She said with much despair in her voice, “I need your help Adrián” The line got quiet for a moment.

“You that desperate, fine. Where do I go?”

“USS Jaxartes, or what is left of it” Sazra spoke with sadness as she looked around the bridge and shrugs “See ya in ten minutes” The line closed as she nodded. This mission is going to be taken later, that was for sure.

  • Solid work introducing your character, the ship, and the situation! I'm really interested to see how the repair work goes. I like how your CO character is strictly science and has to lean on someone else for the engineering stuff! Looking forward to more stories from the crew of your ship! Nice start.
