Fleet Action II: Echoes of the Tkon

July 24, 2021

T-0 seconds. Its here. Its time.

Bravo Fleet’s second Fleet Action, Echoes of the Tkon has officially launched! The wait is over and the hype is just jumping another notch!

If you haven’t already, you should check out the recent Lore report which details the opening fiction of the Echoes of the Tkon. A lot of you have already read it and the feedback has been phenomenal. Omega is involved. But what about the Tkon? Don’t worry. We will have consistent fiction updates throughout the Fleet Action which will progress the story to a conclusion. That conclusion? You help get us there.

The Fleet Action itself will be comprised of three phases, each two weeks long, and each with a week break in between. The first phase will run from 24 July 2021 until 6 August 2021. We will then enjoy a week-long break to refuel and reenergize. The second phase will begin with a new fiction update from the Lore Office and will run from 14 August 2021 until 27 August 2021. We will then have another week-long break until the third phase, which will run from 4 September 2021 until 17 September 2021. Additionally, there will be competitions that run the entire length of the Fleet Action, including ribbon races that will test the endurance of our gamers and writers.

Each phase will contain roughly (but not exactly!) 10 competitions each. That breaks down to 5 competitions per week for each phase. We made it so that a bulk of the competitions were fun but quick to do so that it didn’t take up too much time for you guys. You may be wondering how you’ll help us get to the conclusion of the story? There will be fiction events in each phase. These fiction events are meant to be quick and dirty two week extravaganzas that will come full circle to tell a complete story. They aren’t meant to be dwelled on or stall. Moving the plot is the name of the game, and we’re here to help if you need it! However, once a phase is over, its over, and the Fleet Action is moving onto the next phase!

Scoring

Each individual will earn five points per event they participate in towards their overall score for the Echoes of the Tkon event. Participation is defined as a valid submission for an event. Simply signing up for an event or uploading an unqualified submission will not count. You have to put in the effort in order to receive the reward.

Additionally, the top three individuals in each event will earn placement points. First place will earn three points, 2nd Place will earn two points, and 3rd Place will earn one point. Events will have modifiers based on their perceived difficulty/level of effort required: modifier for fiction will be 3, modifier for gaming will be 2, and no modifier will be added to puzzle and trivia events.

Grading formula: (Placement Score * Event Modifier) + Participation = Event Score

At the end of the competition, the individual scores for all three weeks will be added up, and the top three individuals will earn stars. The task force with the most points earned by its members will also receive a prize (!!), and of course, bragging rights.

I cannot stress enough that participation is key to winning. Don’t quite have the answer? Submit what you have? Not that great at graphics? Whip out MS Paint and do your best. Can’t write a novel? That’s okay, write what feels fun! The entire point of the Fleet Action is for you guys to have fun and that is why the scoring is based on you just participating and having a good old time!
