Archery Training

Description

In order to better understand ourselves and our own past, we look to observe and learn about primitive cultures we encounter in our explorations.  In order to hold to the Prime Directive, we cannot contaminate these cultures by revealing advanced technology if the mission requires us to go planetside and interact.  The bow is a very common tool and weapon used for hunting as well as defense in early bipedal species.  In our own more advanced society, the bow is kept around to be used as a source of recreation as we practice our aim and prowess.  In today’s exercise, we will practice our skills with the bow.  Perhaps this skill will serve you on your next away mission observing primitive cultures.

The goal here is to achieve the highest score.  The winner will be determined by the highest score, but ties will be broken by who has the lowest time as recorded by the BMFS.

It took me a second to figure out the controls of this game, as I saw no instructions.  So I will describe the mechanics here;

  • To shoot, click the mouse or tap your mobile device screen.  Releasing the mouse button or removing your finger from the mobile device screen is what shoots your arrow.
  • Drag your mouse/finger to the left to draw the string.
  • Drag your mouse/finger up or down to change the pitch of the aim.
  • Only let go of the mouse or lift your finger off your mobile screen once you are ready to shoot!

Criteria

  • Participants should submit a screenshot clearly showing their score.
  • Submissions will be judged on the Best score achieved. You can play as many times as you like before submitting. Highest score wins.
  • Ties will be broken based on the time taken between competition start and submission as recorded by the BFMS timer.

Didn't work on the phone, so I switched to laptop. The time change likely cost many any competitiveness, but I enjoyed the minigame! Thanks for the opportunity. :D
