Dyfal donc a dyr y garreg” -‘ ‘Tapping persistently breaks the stone‘ – Welsh Proverb

They say, to really get a feel for a planet, you need to set foot on it, smell the air and listen to the sound of the wind. The crew of Gawain have taken this wisdom to heart, and are always the first ones waiting at the bay doors to take a stroll upon a new and unexplored frontier. As part of Typhon Squadron the list of opportunities is long as they explore the Shackleton Expanse and its myriad of untapped opportunities. Whether it’s scouting out mining locations, considering the local flora and fauna, or simply mapping the roll of the hills and valleys; the crew of Gawain are never happier than when both their hands and boots are covered in mud.

Here, tapping against the door of the unknown is not only encouraged, it’s also the best part of the day.

Typhon Wayfinding Squadron

“Dawn after dawn.”

Tasked with pushing the boundaries of Federation space, the Typhon Wayfinding Squadron serves the Fourth Fleet across three distinct theatres of operation. From the politically charged corridors of the Former Demilitarised Zone to the uncharted reaches of the Shackleton Expanse, each command carries the Federation’s message into spaces where its presence is either desperately needed or entirely new.

Led from the USS Typhon, the squadron’s work is rarely simple and never finished. Diplomats, explorers and cartographers in equal measure, the crewmembers of the Typhon Wayfinding Squadron rise each morning to meet the next horizon — dawn after dawn.
