USS Praxiteles (NCC-63422)
Named for one of the most important sculptors in the Greek classical tradition, the starship Praxiteles is outfitted for scientific studies of all types but has specialized facilities and equipment to perform in-depth cultural analyses of new civilizations. Once first and second contact are done, ships like the Praxiteles visit worlds to record, understand, and celebrate the art, music, and culture of alien worlds. In a sector as wide-open as Olympia, the crew of the Praxiteles is sure to have their work cut out for them—once the “real” explorers find some civilizations for them to follow up with, that is. Until then, the Praxiteles is based out of Olympia Station and has orders to perform standard patrol and survey missions until it is able to realize its primary mission.
The crew of this starship is a mix of Dominion War veterans being given an on-ramp to return to service smoothly and young, eager officers. Under the command of Captain Alexandra Langely, this crew must come together across their generational divide to become a cohesive unit.
