It had been over 7 hours, since the crew of the USS Paso Robles have began its mission of resupplying the fleet. It had taken longer than the anticipated because of the communication blackout issues.

T’Shan and Lira had just returned to the USS Paso Robles, even though they had left to deliver parts it seemed like they’re coming back with more stuff. Every Captain they visited, wanted to give a gift back to their captain. Most of the gifts were bottles of wine and other fine spirits.

“Do you think the captain will share these with the crew, or do you take us to go in his private stock?” T’Shan fast as they both started to land the shuttlecraft in the shuttle Bay.

“I’m not sure, I know if these are all for me they’ll be going in the lounge and I would be sharing them with the crew. But I’m not sure maybe he’ll keep a bottle and maybe he’ll get the rest away or maybe he’ll keep all of them.” Lira said to her friend realizing that was a cop out of an answer, but she didn’t know the captain well enough to know if he would keep the bottles or if he would distribute them to the crew or put them in the lounge.

“I see, new query.” T’Shan started to say, prompting her friend for another question that she had on her mind.

“Do you think the captain will find our work to be satisfactory, I anticipated that this mission would have been over 2.75 hours ago but due to the complications but the blackout we went over my projected time frame.” T’Shan told you Lira, she felt guilty because she normally never miscalculated how long it would take him to complete a job.

“I think you’re being too hard on yourself, let’s land the ship then we’ll get a board we’ll go see the captain will give them all the booze and I don’t think he’ll care that we are 2.75 hours past our expected time frame to deliver all the parts.” Lira pointed out to T’Shan. She was trying to cheer her up a little bit, even though her tone seem kind of a little on edge. Mainly because she was just tired. But they had a job to do and she thought they did a great job doing it.

Lira and T’Shan continue to land the shuttle, and then after they did they picked up the crate of fine spirits and wines and started to head towards the bridge.

Location: USS Paso Robles, Bridge

Reeve sat in the command chair, it had been a quiet shift. He had notified both the captain and first officer that T’Shan and Lira had returned. He looked around at the bridge crew. “Anything to report, Lieutenant Thorne?”

Jaxon looked up and started to shaje his head and then spoke. “Everything is quiet, Sir.”

As the turbo left door is open you could hear a smoke great rattling with a few bottles. Lira walks off the transporter pad, realizing all eyes are on them.

Reeve nodded and looked to the turbolift as Lira and T’Shan walked onto the bridge. “You’re late.” He said with a bit of humor in his voice.

“I’m sorry sir, it appears the captains of all the ships that we eat gave deliveries too, today. Felt the need to return the favor. These are all for the captain.” Lira suggested to Reeve, as she waited for his response. She held the crate in her hands.

Reeve smiled. “Set the crate down over here by the captains chair.” He took a deep breath. “Everything went well?” He asked, waiting to see if they would give him any reason for it taking so long.

T’Shan looked to Reeve for a moment, she was contemplating what to say. “The mission had his delay sir, but we accomplish everything that we set out to do.” The Vulcan Helmsman said, still kicking herself for being 2.75 hours late.

“We had to push the shuttlecraft a little hard, the blackout is messing with interference and communications. I hope and then the last 7 hours you guys have found a way to overcome that. Cuz I’m telling you if we have to continue using Morse code it’s going to take forever.” Lira suggested to Reeve.

Renato walked onto the bridge, and so did Mira they were both in his ready room. He waited for Reeve to answer the ensign’s question.

“Your mission was a success.” Reeve spoke up. “And came back to the ship unharmed. No mission is without some hiccups. Consider it a job well done.” He paused. “I am certain the Captain will be pleased with his gifts.”

“You know you can tell people a thousand times that you don’t need anything just for doing your job but yet they insist on giving me gifts. Oh the burdens of command number one.” Renato said in a teasing voice as he looked over to Mira.

“I can see that sir, it must be rough getting a crateful of fine spirits and wines.” Mira said teasingly back to him.

“What do you think I should do with this Lieutenant O’Connell?” Renato asked, as he looked over to his second officer who is still standing by his command chair.

Reeve felt a little blindsided. “I recommend that they be shared with the crew.” He said, looking at the captain. It seemed like the fairest decision and would boost morale.

“Well I think we should give them to the crew, what do you think number one?” Renato asked as he looked to Mira.

“Sounds like a wonderful idea sir, I think the land should be a perfect place for them.” Mira suggested to her captain.

“Mr Thorne do you think they needed an armed escort to deliver the goods to the lounge?” Renato asked in a teasing voice.

“I would be happy to escort them.” Jaxon said with a smile. “We wouldn’t want them to have any delays delivering it.”

“Captain there is an opportunity here to make a profit on some of these spirits.” Malek suggested to him, hoping to get the captain to change his mind.

“There’s also the internal profit of keeping our crew happy, and these spirits can go a long ways to make sure that happens.” Renato pointed out to his chief of the boat.

“Yes sir.” Simply said Malek.

“The four of you’ve been awfully quiet, do you have any suggestions?” Renato asked as he looked to the four officers who had remained quiet.

“I believe we should save some for a crew gathering.” Taren spoke up. “Make it a bonding time for us all.” He paused for a moment. “You can’t gain a close knit crew without some socialization.”

Aria thought for a moment. “I would say we share it sparingly. There is no need to use it all for one gathering. Perhaps we will find more than one way for it to be useful.”

“I agree with the captain, we should give it to the crew they deserve it they’ve been working hard. I understand profit is a great motivator, but let’s not forget that well press latinum doesn’t get us anything in starfleet’s currency. Hard to believe that Starfleet even has a currency nowadays. I remember back in the 60s or so I read in the history but there wasn’t a currency back then.” Zara pointed out as she looked to everyone on the bridge.

Teral thought for a moment before replying. “The crew has done very well and they need to be rewarded for their accomplishments. “It should be shared amongst us.”

“Then we’re all in agreement, Mr Thorne take down the fine spirits to the lounge area, party’s going to be on me tonight gentlemen and ladies.” Run out there said as the scene starts to fade away.
