History
Early Years:
From a young age and being raised by scientists, T’Shan accepted the teaching of Surack. At first the two ideologies seemed to crash with one another. But she learned that shew was wrong from a young age.
At a young age, T’Shan found it difficult to control her emotions, but the teachings of Surak helped her find the stability that she needed. Despite her family being in the science field, T’Shan found her skills better suited in Engineering and operations. She found it more relaxing to tinker with engines and computer consoles.
At the age of 12 she had assisted with reconstruction of a shuttle for her classroom assignment. She had to do it from memory, she was not allowed to refer to any documents. At the time she thought the assignment was ridiculous, but when she heard what was expected of scientists, she quickly decided to move on. She knew Vulcan’s helpd themselves to a higher standard.
Vulcan schools were completely different from other cultures. They were expected not only to know the knowledge, but be able to memorize it. Making them highly intelligent.
Academy:
At first T’Shan was concerned if her fellow classmates would accept her. During her time on Vulcan, she was led to believe that Starfleet as a whole had issues with Vulcan’s and their logic. But she discovered this was not true from her perspective. She met and befriended Lira Chameer from Betazed.
Lira was able to see beyond the vulcan logical exterior that T’Shan tried to establish, because she was able to sense her emotions. They two ladies became inseparable, and they were both happy to be serving together.
T’Shan was near the top of her class when she graduated from the academy. There was a couple of Vulcans in her class that were more competitive than she was, since she was not competitive, she allowed them to place higher then. She preferred to a team player, instead of a self centered egotistical person.
Towards her sophomore year, she had changed her profession to flight operations. She still focused and studied operations and engineering on her free time. But her main focus was tying to acclimate to being around humans, so she decided during this point in her life, she would be a pilot to gain experience what it was like to be a little on the wild side and living chaotic. It was not as easy as she hoped it would have been. But she felt that it was her best chance to fit in with her fellow officers.
