Operations Office Report #27 – Staffing Update

December 16, 2023

Our recent Fleet Action has certainly kept us busy in the Operations Office, so here are a few staff updates from us!

New Task Force 47 Commanding Officer

I would like to take a moment to express our appreciation for Fleet Admiral James Neidlinger (JonM) for his exceptional leadership and dedication as the Commanding Officer of Task Force 47 over the past few months. His unwavering commitment to the team and his excellent management skills have been instrumental in ensuring Task Force 47 remains a great hub for our members to be a part of. We wish him all the best in his new job, and we are super excited to see the new updates he will develop for BFMS that will make what we offer in the Operations Office even better for our members and our Task Force staff! Thank you, Jon!

Without further delay, I’m delighted to announce that Commodore Alexandra Sudari-Kravchik (McGig) will succeed JonM and return to the position of Task Force 47 Commanding Officer. Though he is returning to Task Force Staff life, McGig will continue his role as Deputy Intelligence Officer. Fun Fact: McGig was my first Task Force Executive Officer a few years ago and has plenty of experience as a Task Force Commanding Officer. He led Task Force 47 successfully during its formation days and has a proven track record of delivering results. Not only is he now a three-time Fleet Action champion, but when he was last in the spot, Task Force 47 won its first Fleet Action. With Task Force 47 coming in second place, I am sure they will do well under McGig’s leadership. I’m thrilled to see him return as the Task Force Commanding Officer and confident that he will continue the great work of his predecessor and lead the Task Force to even greater heights. Welcome back, McGig!

New Task Force 47 Executive Officer

Joining McGig will be Lieutenant Commander Varen Wyll (greyimage) as Task Force 47 Executive Officer. We feel that after almost four months in Task Force 72 as its deputy, Grey joining McGig is a great step forward for Task Force 47! We thank Grey for everything they’ve done in Task Force 72 and wish them all the best in their new Task Force!

Task Force Executive Officers Wanted!

Owing to changes in personal situations and priorities, we are looking for three new Task Force Executive Officers. So, if you are interested, we are opening up our application processes for those members who would like to join the Operations staff as Task Force Executive Officers in Task Forces 72, 86 and 93.

Those who are interested, please apply here. You have until Saturday 6th January 2024, to apply for these roles; however, if we find suitable candidates before the deadline, we may appoint them early. We hope to announce who the new Task Force Executive Officers are by the start of the new year (if not sooner).

When applying, it is crucial that you understand what it means to be a Task Force Executive Officer.

Task Force Executive Officers (TFXOs) are the deputy leaders of the Task Forces. They share the responsibility for developing a sense of camaraderie in their units, organising competitions, and helping members navigate the rank system by nominating the appropriate OCS rewards for their activity. They are also members of Bravo Fleet Command, where they have a voice in the overall direction of the fleet. Subordinate to the Bravo Fleet Operations Officer, they work in partnership with their TFCOs to ensure consistent opportunities for members to get involved across the fleet. TFXOs must also be exemplars of activity by demonstrating at least moderately strong activity levels and participating conscientiously on Discord. Generally speaking, a member should be at least a Lieutenant Commander to apply to this position, demonstrating familiarity with Bravo Fleet. Previous staff experience is not required.

We are looking for candidates who have the time to take on these roles. They will be the type of people who want to give back to our community and ensure our members have a great time. In return, we can provide you with training and support to understand your new role. We can provide you with a friendly, supportive team on the BFC that works closely together to strive to provide the best Star Trek community experience on the internet. If this is right up your market, please apply or contact me via Discord.
