That’s gold Jerry, gold. Reloaded Edition

Description

Stretch your skills at including Trekslusive references and writing light-hearted comedic content. Think of your own spin on or rendition of a Lower Decks scene, campy TOS humour, or any other comedy styling you desire.

The contest is simple, write a funny story and drop easter eggs/fan service as much as you can, while also trying to elicit laughter from the reader.

All submissions must contain at least one instance of an identifiable joke, comedic anecdote, or attempt at comedic wit.

Lower Decks often contained references to previous Trek shows/movies, so in addition to being funny, your submission should also include as many references to Star Trek lore/canon past and present as possible.

Is your character off duty in the ship’s lounge barefoot? Are they on duty, passing time shooting the breeze with a superior on the bridge? Where you set your story is entirely up to you. The primary goal is to make me laugh.

Criteria

  • Solo entries only. Must be a story published during the competition.
  • Must be between 500-1500 words. No AI allowed.
  • Stories will be graded using the Bravo Fleet Fiction Rubric, which marks on the following criteria: Language, Style, & Mechanics; Adherence to Canon; Perspective; Characterisation; Originality; Use of the Prompt.
  • Each instance of Trek fan service, easter eggs, call backs, or "member berries" will be worth an additional 3%, up to a maximum of a +30%, added to your final graded score.
