Lost in the System
Description
A recent LCARS update—meant to streamline Task Force 17’s administrative records—had gone horribly wrong. The update had somehow misfiled or outright displaced key personnel records. They weren’t deleted—at least, Brennan hoped not—but they were certainly not where they should be.
“Computer, access Captain Myer’s’ service record.” Brennan commanded, trying to stay calm.
A beat of silence. Then, instead of the expected personnel dossier, the screen filled with a Vulcan poetry archive.
Brennan sighed and rubbed her temples. This was no minor clerical error—the records of every commanding officer in the task force had been scattered to who-knew-where across the system. Some might be retrievable with a deep-dive search, others possibly buried in unrelated logs or rerouted to entirely different ships. And if they didn’t find them soon? Command oversight, tactical planning, and even critical mission authorizations could be at risk.
