The Labyrinth
Deck 2, Port Side
Converted from the enlisted mess/lounge to a relaxed recreational & bar area for all ranks, the Labyrinth is so called for the easily lost time within its walls. Fitted with small private alcoves of twisting seats framed by holographic walls that surround a long lounge area of open plan seating the bar maximises the available space of the small vessel whilst understanding the need for privacy. Against the forwardbulkhead a holographic bar fronts a series of automated replicators that provide refreshments and food for the patrons, all served the bar's VI, Ariadne. Following years of tinkering by less than sober crewmembers Aridane has grown beyond her origional programming, skirting true AI status, even developing an inexplicable knack for guessing the patron's preferred drink without prompting. Styled after the many island bars that dot the Greek archipelego of Earth, linen, olive wood and fresh plants accentuate the faux rock walls, decorated with frescos, each depicting historical moments in the classic Minoan style. The bar offers arresting views of space to the port side of the vessel and when the lights are turned down low and the lyre music starts playing during the ship's evening shift rotation, one could be forgiven for believing you sit on the Ionian coast watching the universe roll by.
