The USS Melbourne is a Nebula-class starship that serves as the flagship of the Melbourne Exploratory Cruiser Division, a temporary division formed to heed the call of the colonies in distress in 2403. Her modular hull and mission pod give her the cargo capacity, power reserves and onboard facilities to bring the relief the colonies in the Cestus region need, while keeping the mobility a fixed relief station does not have.
