Nuni Irric’s Youth & Bajor during the Occupation

Nuni Irric was born on Stardate 235904.26 (April 26th, 2359), on the war-torn planet of Bajor, into a modest Bajoran household with two siblings, an older sister, and a younger brother. His family struggled to make ends meet during the oppressive Cardassian Occupation, often relying on the support of the local resistance cell to survive.

As a young boy, Nuni had a close call with a Cardassian patrol while attempting to acquire much-needed supplies for his family. This encounter left a lasting impression on him and fueled his desire to resist the occupation’s injustices.

Irric’s admiration for Starfleet was sparked by his older cousin, Shalim, who had managed to join Starfleet during the occupation, albeit with great difficulty. Shalim’s stories of bravery and the hope he brought back from the stars deeply influenced Nuni.

His experiences on Bajor taught him resilience, resourcefulness, and the ability to adapt to challenging circumstances, skills that would serve him well in his future Starfleet career.

During the occupation, Nuni had a mentor within the Bajoran resistance, an older member named Jinto Tora. Jinto instilled in him the importance of justice and standing up for one’s beliefs, which further fueled Nuni’s determination to join Starfleet.

The end of the Cardassian Occupation brought a mix of emotions for Nuni. While it was a time of hope and liberation for Bajor, it was also a period of adjustment and healing as the planet tried to rebuild after decades of conflict.

One defining moment from his youth was when he helped his family and other Bajoran refugees escape from a Cardassian labor camp during a daring rescue operation. It solidified his commitment to fighting for justice and freedom.

Starfleet Carreer

Academy & Early Career

Nuni enlisted in Starfleet at the age of 18, determined to honor his cousin Shalim’s legacy and to contribute to the cause of justice and peace in the galaxy. His experiences during the occupation had instilled in him a deep sense of duty.

During his training at Starfleet Academy, Nuni faced challenges related to his past trauma but overcame them with the support of his fellow cadets and counseling services. He demonstrated exceptional skills in problem-solving and investigation, earning him recognition among his peers.

Nuni forged a close friendship with a fellow cadet named Lara Soren, who shared his passion for justice and investigation. Together, they tackled complex case studies and excelled in their coursework.

His experiences on Bajor during the occupation made him highly empathetic toward the victims of injustice, which led him to excel in his studies on ethics and morality within Starfleet.

The turning point in his career came when he successfully uncovered evidence of corruption within a Starfleet outpost, leading to the arrest and removal of several high-ranking officers involved in illicit activities. This earned him commendation and marked the beginning of his rise through the ranks.

Nuni Irric views his role within Starfleet as a means to bring order, justice, and fairness to the galaxy. His long-term aspiration is to work on diplomatic missions that promote peace and understanding between different species.

Upon graduating from the academy, Nuni’s first assignment was aboard the USS Phoenix, an Intrepid-class starship known for its exploratory missions in the Alpha Quadrant. Starting as an Ensign, he ultimately served as an Assistant Chief of Security, where he quickly gained a reputation for his tenacity in solving security breaches and uncovering espionage attempts.

During his tenure on the USS Phoenix, Nuni formed a close bond with his commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Alara Reynard. Commander Reynard recognized his potential and mentored him in the art of leadership and decision-making. Their shared dedication to justice and protection of the Federation’s values further solidified Nuni’s commitment to his Starfleet career.

After several successful years on the USS Phoenix, Nuni Irric received a transfer to the USS Excalibur, a Galaxy-class starship responsible for diplomatic and peacekeeping missions throughout the Federation. Here, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and took on the role of Assistant Chief of Security and Chief Investigator.

His time on the USS Excalibur broadened his horizons as he engaged in complex negotiations and investigations involving various species and cultures. This experience deepened his understanding of interstellar politics and diplomacy, skills that would prove invaluable in his future assignments.

Starbase 451

Nuni’s dedication and exemplary service did not go unnoticed, and he was eventually promoted to Lieutenant Commander. His next assignment took him to Starbase 451, where he assumed the position of Deputy Chief of Security and Investigations. His leadership and expertise in security and investigations made him a natural choice for the role.

Starbase Bravo

After several years on Starbase 451, Nuni Irric received a new assignment as the Investigations Section Leader on Starbase Bravo, where he currently serves. This prestigious posting allows him to apply his accumulated knowledge and skills to ensure the safety and security of Starfleet’s operations in the sector.
