Alexandra Keating

Alexandra Keating is Rear Admiral McCallister’s Chief of Staff and Adjutant, responsible for directing the Odyssey Flotilla’s headquarters and ensuring its many departments operate as a coherent whole. A former member of Ambassador Zobrella’s staff, Keating has extensive experience in administration, diplomacy, and managing senior personalities. She has known McCallister since they served together on the USS Audiacious.

Keating is intelligent, quick-witted and immensely personable, possessing the rare ability to command a room without draining it of warmth. She thinks quickly, speaks plainly, and often uses humour to puncture inflated egos or release tension in difficult moments. Although normally polished and articulate, she is expressive enough that her irritation, disbelief, or amusement can sometimes be read before she decides to voice it. She can manage a major crisis without hesitation, yet occasionally finds herself disproportionately flustered by some trivial inconvenience.

Compassion and moral conviction sit at the centre of Keating’s leadership. She cares deeply about the people behind every report and refuses to let administrative efficiency obscure a decision’s consequences. Fiercely loyal to McCallister because of their time at the academy together, followed by a few joint assignments and years as professors at Starfleet Academy, she is still willing to confront him when she believes he is wrong. Keating leads through trust, persuasion and personal connection, remembering names, recognising when someone is struggling and knowing when encouragement will achieve more than an order. Her staff respect her not merely because of her rank, but because they know she will defend them, demand their best and accept responsibility when matters go wrong.
