Appearance
Elias is average height, with a build that leans more toward wiry than heavily muscled. He has dark brown eyes and dark hair with a tendency to spike which he wages a daily battle to tame. Grey is beginning to infiltrate his stubble, so he keeps it short. His lower left leg below the knee is a replacement after a training accident at the Academy.
He makes sure to keep himself fit, his training regime regimented down to the last rep, but no one who sees him train could ever accuse him of liking to work out.
Personality
Elias is average, the kind to blend into a crowd, and that’s the way he likes it. His manner of speech is somewhat clipped, and he rarely raises his voice. It is a mask. If he chooses to be, Elias is highly charismatic and charming, easily able to sway a crowd. He just chooses not to.
Behind the implacable mask, though, he is highly intelligent, adaptable, and, above all, organized. Elias has a routine and standard operating procedure for everything. He rarely, if ever, gives in to any impulses.
His rigid self-control hides an immense amount of survivor’s guilt after the incident at the Academy. He has remained in a holding pattern since the academy, making sure his abilities are sharp. The one thing he truly enjoys, for the skill aspect, is shooting. His range scores have remained as good as they were during his time at the Academy, one of the only things he allows himself to be proud of from his ‘former’ life.
History
Early life
Elias was brought up in a Starfleet family, with several relatives, including his parents, in Starfleet service. As a result, his childhood and teenage years were spent on a variety of starships and other fleet facilities. A bright and extroverted child with a tendency to organize any group of children into whatever play activities he preferred, it was no surprise when Elias expressed the desire to become a Starship captain like his grandfather.
Starfleet Academy
Elias joined Starfleet as soon as he was able and was on the Bridge Officer Track. As the senior cadet of his training squadron, he was on course for a stellar career in Starfleet. However, in his final year, a wilderness survival exercise went badly wrong, and there were several serious injuries and two fatalities. Even though he himself was injured, Elias took responsibility as the senior cadet in charge and resigned from the academy.
Only his mentor’s intervention kept Elias in Starfleet, but he refused to return to the Academy. Instead, he entered administration as a yeoman.
Early Career
Elias’ first posting was aboard the USS Ghillie, an older science vessel. It was aboard the Ghillie that his previous academy training turned out to be surprising advantage. Familiar with the fleet’s procedures and protocols from the other side of the fence, he found could organize the administration side more than effectively, often knowing what form or procedure was required instantly. He gained a reputation for being able to track down the most obscure of paperwork or hidden of records.
He continued this reputation when he moved to the USS Victorius. An older ship that stayed firmly within federation borders Elias found himself as the backbone of the administration department. His life was an orderly routine of making sure paperwork was in order and filed correctly, and that transfers (of which there were few) were progressed in the correct manner. Everything in it’s place and a place for everything became his motto.
His move to the USS Stirling came with a promotion, first to Petty Officer, then to Chief Petty Officer and yeoman to the captain, his former mentor at the academy. The ship was more front line that his previous postings, but Elias took the change of pace in stride. The crew aboard often took bets on whether anything bothered the stoic yeoman, and always lost. The only thing that seemed to ruffle his feathers was paperwork incorrectly filled out (something that ill-advised ensigns often attempted, only to be met with an eyebrow raise that quickly had them correcting said errors)
Current Career
When the Stirling’s CO retired, Elias opted not to remain aboard and requested a transfer. He was reassigned to Starbase Bravo, and joined the administration department aboard.
