Hot for Your Genomic Sequences

The Doctor is always the surly one! Its in their job description, and Dr. Strin is no exception to this rule! With the absence of senior staff, I feel she might have a bigger role to play in the coming mission as everyone works out what's going on. I really like the natural captain's log segment, which continues to flesh out Meghan as a character!

Is it Food?

The universe of Anamorphic-beings?! Poor Eric has to be reeling from emotional whiplash with the myriad changes happening around him. Makes me wonder if he is alone in this universe, or if the others came with him, and they're somewhere else on the ship? And a possible team-up with the Gorn looks to be on the horizon!

Oh wow! I got to say, she picked a heck of a time to come back. And to have this kind of crisis dropped on her, in her first command, is really going to test her character! The sudden cut mid-sentence was a nice touch to capture just how sudden the disappearances are. Cant wait to see how all of the Brawley’s crew develops…if they make it back!

GH-3: Pieces in the Wrong Puzzle
April 24, 2026 3:52 AM

I like how you put So-Mi -IN- this universe, and how the REAL her keeps bleeding in and out trying to free herself, while still world-building the displaced universe around them. And oh boy, Kurino is dead in this universe. Gonna be one hell of a reunion when she comes barreling through that portal at Starbase 80.

GH-2: Fear
April 24, 2026 3:45 AM

And now I need to deep dive to find more between Kurino and So-Mi! Please tell me there is more to read there! And the line “Many original sentences, never before experienced by man.” Was amazing to convey just how out of depth they all are compared to what they have dealt with thus far in their careers. I wonder, referencing Crusher as Picard’s XO, was that the signs of another ripple perhaps?

GH-1: I Don’t Think That’s Supposed To Go There
April 24, 2026 3:37 AM

Having been introduced to Song as a character before in the opening of New Frontiers, I had to think, “Did she reboot the character?” But as I kept reading, the confusion became apparent as intentional ripples. I love the realism, you KNOW every engineer aboard every shift, is uttering curses under their breath at least half of the shift! I can't wait to see more of these two interacting!

Part 4
April 17, 2026 4:54 AM

Now the pieces are coming together. As much as I am invested in Keziah’s story, the mission takes a whole new perspective with the rest of the fleet on THIS side of the temporal fence. Although if you're going to send a ship back through time, probably best to send an Excelsior that could blend in a bit easier. Wonderful job! Cant wait to see how it all pans out!

Part 3
April 17, 2026 4:48 AM

Oh wow. Another psychological impact of time/reality swapping. This Keziah may have been on a similar path (Taking tactical instead of conn), but life is still so different. Who wouldn’t risk hearing the voices of loved ones again? A good internal question of if she’s already joined early or not is at play.

Part 2
April 17, 2026 4:41 AM

What gets me is that Captain Nazir is already joined, but sent back to a time before they were joined. Is there a possible double cameo in the making? I like how shes trying to retrace her steps based on memory, a feat that not many of us would be able to fully pull off, but instantly noticing the discrepancies. And now, we lost the Prophet?! Oh this does not bode well at all for this timeline. I cant wait to see how she manages to get out of this one.

Part 1
April 17, 2026 4:34 AM

Not much I can say that hasn’t already been addressed by other readers, but an excellent opening for sure! Its nice to get a glimpse at a character's past (somewhat in a sense) and allow them to relive moments that shaped them. The Dominion War is an amazing era to recall, and I cant wait to see what twists and divergence from the timeline we see unfold in these stories!

Within the Boundary
April 17, 2026 4:31 AM

Well, more answers, and more questions! The conundrum continues! I liked the “I…didn’t do anything” comment; it shows the men in black do have a sense of humor. I wonder what the watcher could have seen/sensed, given the formal appearance of the black armored entity? UGH! I now have to wait!

The Walls Close In
April 17, 2026 4:20 AM

1) I love the shift in attitude the ECH has between the station crew and his ‘captain’ its so fatherly and protective! I loved to see that. 2) HOLY FORKING SHIRTBALLS! The BBEG are revealed at last! “your expulsion from our reality” Does that mean they are working on a way to send the station back themselves?! So glad im able to binge-read these in bulk!

Theory Crafting
April 17, 2026 4:09 AM

As a Hologram enthusiast myself, I applaud the notion that they are more than just tools. But yes, I agree, I think the ECH’s ego (and eagerness NOT to send the ship) will be a deciding factor in all this. Being new to this crew and characters, I wonder how different he will react to his actually assigned “Captain”. Great command briefing scene!

Direct Intervention
April 17, 2026 3:32 AM

Yea that response didn’t take long at ALL. If they're able to send a transphasic warhead out of the bubble, they could modify it to be a transphasic probe. The snails have started to breach the salt line! The stakes only get higher from here!

Intentional Deviation
April 17, 2026 3:20 AM

“That assessment is flawed.”, “No, YOUR logic is flawed!” I know she's Vulcan, but it came across to me as the sassiest snapback! Oh, how tempers flare when the smartest kids in the room get told they're wrong! But it's also nice to see them all come together, though I'm fairly certain Grant already suggested shooting the barrier before!

Pattern Recognition
April 17, 2026 3:03 AM

I have to say, you write the Watcher very well. He's just as infuriating as other higher life forms we have seen in various media across Star Trek. Talking Mira in circles until she reaches the right conclusion is an excellent way to progress the plot without giving it away! I wonder if he can perceive the ripples of the Shadow People, if they, too, are aware of his presence/ability? Can't wait to read more!

Uncertainty Principle
April 10, 2026 5:05 AM

I second Grant! Arm phasers and see what happens. Even if the shadow box people get angry, anger is better than ignoring! And I almost forgot about the full-on civilian population onboard! That's only going to get more and more complicated as time goes by! I hope they start to piece together the puzzle soon. How is the Watcher healing?

Schrödinger’s Starbase
April 10, 2026 4:56 AM

Amazing work, and a perfectly practical approach to their situation. Now, instead of imagining something pulling them back in on themselves, it appears they're trapped in a bubble! And now a looming black ship is on the horizon!? Maybe now we will face off against our out-of-phase foes!

The Fermi Paradox, Part II
April 9, 2026 3:25 PM

“Strolled leisurely onto HIS bridge” Omg, I love it! Nice touch with the scientific explanation. Technobabble is great and all but we always have to find ways in writing to allow the reader (of our time) also understand! (Michael is a car guy, so I tend to do the same) And now the Pulsar can’t event escape the station? Is it the Men in Black, or is there a deeper spacial event going on! The plot thickens!
