Final post of the mission. But not the final post of the FA for the crew of April ;)
A sweaty, grimey, bruised and tired Kyra Tesa slowly backed herself out of the Jeffries tube that led under the floor space of main engineering.
“Coolant injectors done, finished. I got a bypass run but it can only handle 3 or 4 megapascals of pressure. It’s enough to get us to SB80 at warp 4, but that’s about it. Run a diagnostic and stress test the amount of coolant flow Sims.” the Chief Engineer then turned to the XO and her lover, “We should be good to go in about an hour, hopefully.”
“You’re a wizard, Lt. I just reviewed the system logs, and you and your team saved us from having a full coolant breach. It woulda killed everyone on this deck.” Mee IH comforted her.
“Sneaky drones, they snuck that antiproton pulse right though our own tractor emitter, and used it to try and break our main power distribution node. With this and the main EPS manifold, we’re going to be in the yard for at least a month and a half, and that’s if they don’t make us tear the half a dozen other improvements I’ve made before they even start hust because they don’t follow the Shipyard blueprints.”
“Well maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll send us all on leave while they fix it.” The Beluga said sarcastically as he turned away and tapped his comm badge, “XO to the Bridge, we should be able to get underway at warp 4 in about an hour.”
Wong replied, “Very well Commander, the USS Habikuk is about 2 minutes away, they’ll finish towing our Borg friends the rest of the way to the portal.”
Mee IH added, “Understood sir, and uh, the Chief Engineer would like me to relay to you that we’ll likely need a class 3 Shipyard to get the repairs we need.”
“Or Class 4 even!” Tesa shouted over his shoulder.
“Understood Commander, bridge out.” Wong closed the channel and began wording the report and maintenance requests he needed to call in in his head as he stood up.
“Captain, I’m getting a hail from the USS Irrawaddy sir, they’re at SB80, apparently they were just rescued from an alternate timeline.” Singh reported from the comm station.
“Well, hell, that’s some good news for a change. Tell them we’ll see them in a few hours Lt.” the weary Wong began to walk towards his ready room. He added, “Then patch me through to Task Force HQ at SB 72 and route it to my ready room. You have the bridge, Vaughn.”
Vaughn called for a relief watchstander and stood, “Aye sir. I have the conn.”
