Location: USS Paso Robles, Bridge

Renato is sitting at his command chair when he looked over to Zara she was assisting at the Tactical station monitoring communications. “Has the SS Coventry transport vessels delivered the last of our supplies?” He asked if you wanted to get the mission started as soon as possible.

Currently the Paso Robles was in orbit over Cyclops as the locals in this area refer to it as. Planet Cyclops as it’s unofficially known as, is the third planet in the Zeta Asteropes system.

Officially the planet like moon is designated Zeta Asteropes IIIA. Unofficially the Moon is being called New Java.

Zara confirmed her communications logs and indicated to the captain. “Affirmative, Ensign Chameer is situating the supplies now in cargo bay 3.” She called out with a big grin on her face, she was also noticing that the transport vessel was very to jump to Warp.

“Very well, helm prepare to alter our course to the Talvath system.” This system was located in Romulan space, it was also the main reason why the Romulan star Empire primarily the remnants of that government and the Tal Shair believed that the Federation was using the new telescope to spy on the Romulan people. The damn offering assistance to the Romulan people only furthers their speculation.

T’Shan the Helmsman of the Paso Robles altered her course for the system. “course is plotted, Captain. Waiting for your orders.” she called out, waiting to initiate the new course correction. Currently the ship was in orbit over New Java.

“Lieutenant Thorne please advise me when the SS Coventry has left orbit so we can create a stable warp field.” Renato ordered as he looked over to Jaxon.

“Yes Captain.” Jaxon replied. He kept his concentration on the SS Coventry and the moment it left orbit he spoke.” The SS Coventry has left orbit, Ma’am.”

“Number one will you do the honors?” Renato asked as he looked over to Mira.

“Of course, captain.” Mira said as she continues on to say. “Prepare to break orbit, and once we clear the planet and moons gravitational field, increase to Warp speed.” she called out knowing that the helm already plotted their new course.

“Aye Commander.” T’Shan called out as she engaged the thrusters and started to break orbit. The pulsing of the impulse engines came to life. After a few moments the ship then jump to warp.

“Thank you, number one. Helm what’s our ETA to the Talvath System?” Renato asked, as he looked over too T’Shan.

“10 hours at current speed captain.” T’Shan called out, they were traveling at warp seven for the moment. They needed to get to the Talvath System to before the colonists starved. Recently their crops had been devastated by a natural phenomenon and they needed new industrial food replicators until they could regrow their crops again. The Paso Robles was carrying 10 industrial food replicators.

“Very well, Commander you have the bridge. Lieutenant Thorne, your with me.” Renato ordered, as a headed towards the turbolift doors.

“Yes Captain.” Jaxon replied quietly. He turned the security console over to one of his officers and joined Renato at the turbolift.

Location: USS Paso Robles, Turbolift

At the door switch closed Renato then called out. “Engineering.” And then he looked over to Jaxon. He decided to get straight down to business, didn’t want to waste a man’s time. It wouldn’t take him that long to get to engineering.

“Lieutenant Thorne, I just wanted to have a moment to talk with you. I got your request to move in with Ensign Lira Chameer. He actually explain to me this is very common with your culture. I just wanted to make sure you’re okay with it. What I also understand is that Betazed is a matriarchy society.” Renato said, knowing that they’re in an arranged marriage. But what he didn’t know was about their bonding he had heard about it but he didn’t truly understand it.

“Yes Captain.” Jaxon replied carefully. “We are bonded and this is the next step towards our having a union together.” He looked at his command officer and smiled. “I am very much looking forward to this.”

“I just wanted to make sure, because I’m not too familiar with Betazed customs.” Renato said as the turbo lift continued to travel towards engineering.

“There are many unique customs to my people.” Jaxon said quietly. “It will be for Litra and I to discuss which ones are important.”

“If there is anything you need from me, please dont hesitate to ask.” Renato said, as the turbolift doors started to swish open.

“Thank you, Captain.” Jaxon replied with a nod. “I appreciate that.” It was a relief to know the Captain was on board with their relationship.

“I’m going to meet up with the Chief Engineer, do you want to tag along?” Renato asked, as he started to step off the turbolift doors.

“Yes Captain, I have been meaning to pay engineering a visit myself.” Jaxon said as he followed the captain off the turbolift.

“Ensign Voss, sounds like the engines are purring like a kitten.” Renato said with a big prideful smile on his face, as he approached Taren.

“That they are sir, what brings you by humble abode sir?” Taren asked pilotely. It was a nice way of saying, why are you here?

“Just making my rounds.” Renato said, as he started to walk around the engineering bay. He was very impressed with how tidy things were. And how everyone was focused on their job.

“Ensign Voss, if we need to increase to maximum warp can I count the engines?” Renato asked, as he knew the ships struts struggled at maximum warp. With the last retrofit, they were replaced, but they had not been tested yet. The old logs indicated that the engines caused a lot of vibration in the hull plating of the struts.

“Yes Captain, I am eager to test them out. I would prefer to do it closer to home port, but if we need to increase warp speed, we will be ready and monitoring the situation sir.” Taren said with a tone of confidence in his voice.

“That’s what I love to hear.” Jaxon said, as he decided to chime in. He had been listening to the two of them talk back and forth.

As the scene starts to fade away Jaxon, Renato and Taren continue to talk.

Location: USS Paso Robles, Bridge

Zara was manning the tactical station, since Jaxon was on tour with the captain. She could tell from the logs that they were in engineering. “Commander, it looks like they are leaving engineering.” Zara said as she looked over to Mira.

“Keeping tabs on the Captain are we, Miss Elan?” Mira said in a teasing voice. She did appreciate the update from her, nonetheless.

“I am just anxious, not manning the tactical station.” Zara explained to Mira.

“You’re doing good.” Mira suggested to her, with a warm smile.

“Miss T’Shan, any contacts on our current course?” Mira asked, as she looked over to T’Shan.

“Negative Commander.” T’Shan said, wondering if they were about to do a battle readiness drill. She had a sneaky suspicion the Commander was about to conduct a drill.

“Very good, I think its time we conduct a battle drill.” Mira said, as she looked to the bridge, the scene starts to fade away.

T’Shan was right, she was glad her instincts were right on. The scene fades away.
