Nico continued to look at the console before, trying to raise any outpost within the blackout zone, but the damage was worse than suspected. Commencing an internal structure analysis, he looked around, he could see a lot of junior officers around, some of them cadets.

A lot of them knew what they were doing, which was different from the past. He remember his first mission in behind the Dominion lines, he had met his contact, and they were attacked and chased back to Starfleet Territory. His tricorder beeped. Turns out even short range communications are limited.

He let out a dramatic sigh. He walked out of the Communication Center to the terminal offices, where the Comms are analyzed.

He sat down, there had to be something with the way this all happened, was there a shut down code, is there a way for us to track the underspace activity? What of this Fleet they warned about…

He paused and got his Iced Caramel Machiato with Oat Milk. Sat down at his desk and began running his hands over the logs, if there was a random communication, a random hit, a random signal… wait. What if there was a signal, “BANDWIDTHS!” he screamed at the top of his lungs!

He began analyzing the bandwidth, there is always something there. He began with the usual suspects, VF, HF & UHF Standard Frequencies of 2.4,5&6 GHz(Gigahertz) those are commonly used. No unusual spikes to dilations, running his scans, he began with 0 GHz on the UHF line… there will be something there he hoped.

Several Hours Later

“Absolutely nothing…” he paused. “Not even a temporal distortion would help.” He slumped in his desk, put his head on his temples. Something had to give. Come on Nico, what would I do back on the Denver? He sat there twittling his thumbs growing more concerned about the situation.

“I think the key is to understand the underspace. I need some help.” he said to himself.
