As Polaris Flotilla responds to the Wildfire phenomenon afflicting the Cestus Sector Block, the Ingenuity Science Division and the Archanis Corps of Engineers detachment are deployed to Norribek, a colony near the Gorn border that’s gone silent after a CME superstorm from its long quiet dwarf star completely cripples its critical infrastructure.

While a large engineering operation is established to harden the colony against future ejections from the errant star, two foreboding threats loom over them. Gorn raiding parties have already attacked and terrorized Norribek several times since the wildfire started, and it is only a matter of time before they return. But even more concerning, there’s something smoldering deep within the Norribekian star that threatens to unravel everything they’re fighting to protect, and only a small team from the Advanced Science, Technology and Research Activity have any hope at stopping it.

In the end, the crews of the USS Ingenuity, the USS Pacific Palisades and the RRW Decius will discover a terrifying truth, but the question remains whether any of them will survive it.
