Captain Órlaith Murphy came back from the alternate universe broken and without a command. Her family risked everything to bring her back, but she returned to nothing but nightmares in the dark.

With the Fourth Fleet standing down for shore leave, Órlaith heads to the Colorado mountains, taking advantage of the time away from Starfleet.

There, in the little resort town of Crested Butte, Órlaith is searching for peace and maybe a little tea. She finds neither as Luke Bennett, a local coffee shop owner, crashes into her life like a wrecking ball.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Trinity Talon return to Terra Alpha following the fallout from their decision to rescue Órlaith. They escaped prison, but Trinity took the fall and was court-martialed. Now, for the first time in almost twenty years, she is a civilian.

While Ethan slips back into his role as cowboy and father, Trinity discovers that life outside of intelligence reports and command briefings isn’t so bad after all.
