Part of USS Lakota: Lakota Squadron: The Expanse Campaign

USS Omaha (Archived)

The Silence Between

With a crew untried and untested, newly promoted Commander Venn must bring her team together when a simple run to Starbase 80 turns into a mystery that needs solving.

Mission Description

Reassigned to the fleet in the aftermath of events such as Frontier Day and the Vaadwaur invasion, Omaha  begins her mission under the command of newly minted Commander Alyra Venn, a Betazoid with a point to prove after being thrust into the command chair for the first time. As the ship begins her journey to Starbase 80 to meet up with assets from Lakota Squadron, the new captain must throw the shakedown rule book out the airlock when Starfleet diverts the ship to investigate a communications blackout from Federation Relay Station Alpha-Six-Three, a listening post along a hostile area of the Klingon border.

When they arrive, they find a station undamaged and fully functional, but no one answers their hails. It soon begins to feel much less like an attack, and more like everyone simply… vanished.

USS Omaha: The Silence Between

“Engineering to bridge, plasma flow variance has exceeded recommended thresholds.” Alert lights across Omaha’s bridge activated in that instant; blue strobes beneath bulkheads, under the command chairs and pulsing tracer lights running below the main view screen all replaced with those [...]
