Part of Bravo Fleet: Crossroads

USS Constellation

The One Thing That I Tried To Hold On To

When does living memory become waking death?

Mission Description

A powerful wave of subspace-temporal radiation emanated from a flashpoint on the Klingon-Federation border. Rippling out across the galaxy, the radiation proved to be harmless for the most part. A few were carried out of this quantum reality, displaced to others around the multiverse, seemingly at random. Fourth Fleet Command was entrusted, by a trans-dimensional being, with the temporal-spatial whereabouts of the Displaced, and charged with bringing them back to their home reality.

Constellation Squadron’s previous commander, Fleet Captain Taes, has been ordered to rescue her long-time colleague, competitor, and friendtagonist, Flavia ir-Llantrisant of the Romulan Free State science ministry. Equipped with a runabout and a quantum beacon, Taes traveled through the multiversal portal at Starbase 80, aiming to create as little disruption as possible in this alternate timeline.

Something was waiting for her.

Taes’s personal log: I’m not her patient. I never was. I’m her shadow or her reflection. Or her better half? That’s how the Archivist sees me. She thinks she needs me to take her museum to the next level. A bigger stage! A whole new method of thinking or being. She wants me [...]

USS Constellation: The One Thing That I Tried To Hold On To

Taes’s personal log: I thought she wanted me to be her perfect patient. She knows me. She would have to. The Archivist is me… to a point. I could be her perfect patient: proof that her graveyard fleet has value. Merit. As she explained the fleet to me, she used the same sort of [...]

USS Constellation: The One Thing That I Tried To Hold On To

Alone in the temporary gazebo, Taes paced fluidly, even in the rigid bindings of her dress uniform. She emphasised the heart of each phrase with her hands, comfortably taking command of an alien environment. Her voice was amplified to trumpet her words across the gathered populace. Like the swell [...]
