In the weeks since Federation first contact with the Shackleton Expanse, Starfleet ships have continued to transit the Expanse and some species have reached out to others, the Nihor amongst them. In response to a call from an ailing independent ex-Romulan colony, the Nihor and Federation have organized an aid convoy, protected by a small contingent of Fourth Fleet ships.

But not everyone wants this convoy to reach its destination, and the presence of both large amounts of supplies and a senior Starfleet officer amongst the force have drawn the eyes of some who’d rather have those supplies for themselves…
