On the eve of the latest unprecedented crisis to engulf the galaxy, Columbia and crew emerge at the heart of the Federation, having navigated a fraught and dangerous path through areas of space hampered by a strange phenomenon. Tasked with re-establishing contact with the Andor sector, the crew are relieved to find a star system untouched by the chaos raging beyond it. Docking on the outer edge of the system, home to the Andorian Imperial Guard and one of the Federation’s most vital shipbuilding sectors, a familiar face from the XO’s past is thrust into command when an unprecedented and catastrophic attack on Federation space draws ship and crew into a fight for survival.

A Vaadwaur fleet nearly 400 strong emerges from Underspace, striking without warning and without mercy. Within minutes, defences are overwhelmed as local defence forces struggle to muster a response. Starbase 7, home to Starfleet’s local defence group, begins to crumble under the assault.
