En route to Deep Space Seventeen, after their successful supply run to Zaedar-three, Calistoga is several hours away from a refuelling and re-supply station. With power levels on reserves, because they had pushed the limits of their operational range to make their medical aid run, the ship is suddenly and aggressively pulled out of warp and sucked into a gravitational aperture. Before they can ascertain what is happening, Calistoga suffers damage and emerges on the edge of a black hole far from where they should be. Ship’s engines are barely responding, life support is on minimal power, and the Calistoga and her crew are being pulled closer by each passing minute to the event horizon of the black hole.
