I am so pleased to have the pleasure once again of writing this report for Task Force 17. It’s been a few weeks since I took over as Task Force 17 Commanding Officer. First off, I want to thank Captain Brennan and all her hard, incredible work in developing Task Force 17’s community. It’s been lovely to return and see how far everyone has progressed with their activity. So without further delay, here is the latest from our deep space explorers!
Task Force Updates
Firstly, we’re pleased to announce that Task Force 17 has acquired three new assets to augment its arsenal. We’ve not officially announced it yet, as the Task Force staff have been working hard to update their wiki pages as well as our other Task Force asset pages. So check them out today. Our new assets include:
- USS Qiankun, a Shenzhou-class surveyor
- USS Madrid, a Centaur II-class science vessel
- USS S’Lara, a Springfield-class science vessel
Our new additions are all science-based and can help anyone with their latest exploration efforts! Check out their articles to get some ideas, as well as our other assets.

Writing Updates
Since our last report at the end of June, members of Task Force 17 have contributed many solo and joint-written posts. Here are the latest updates:
- The USS Babylon, USS Burbank, USS Gemini, USS Merced, USS Merrimack, USS Olympic, USS Salvation, USS San Clemente, and USS Solvang joined the crews of Carieann Station and Hecate Station on Casperia Prime for shore leave.
- Lieutenant Commander Marcus Anvers and the USS Merced enjoyed a much-needed vacation on the beaches of Casperia after a harrowing encounter with the Vaadwaur.
- Captain Sanjiv Anand and the USS Babylon were busy on shore leave, connecting with fellow Captains, shepherding a family of Zaldans to safety on a dangerous trail, discovering illicit mining activity while caving and connecting with Cressida Brennan.
- Captain Ishreth Dal and the newly assigned USS Salvation were equally busy on shore leave, networking with fellow captains, and assisting Captain Anand with uncovering the illicit mining operations.
- After Casperia Prime, the USS Salvation travelled to the Federation border, connecting with the USS Farragut, USS Blythe, USS Culver City, USS Sacramento, and USS Solvang to investigate disturbing energy readings. The USS Salvation scouted ahead, uncovering a hidden base concealing a squadron of Tholian fighters just outside Federation territory. Calling for backup, the small Starfleet group engaged the Tholians, pushing them away from Federation territory.
- Captain Jorik Traven and the USS San Clemente joined the fleet at Casperia Prime for vacation. Captain Traven networked with his fellow Captains and enjoyed the forests of Casperia.
- After leaving Casperia Prime, the USS San Clemente set out on a shakedown cruise. Headed out to repair relay stations, the USS San Clemente found an unknown object feeding on the relay stations. The San Clemente brought the object onboard in containment and discovered it may be alive or sentient. They contacted the USS ibn Al-Haytham, which had discovered a similar life form, and transferred the unknown object, completing their repairs.
- USS Merrimack – As the crew recovers from their battle with the Vaadwaur, Captain Keacen finds himself struggling to deal with the loss of his ship. A visit from her executive officer, Isabella Broska, confirms his worst fear: over two hundred officers were lost. As he slips further into his own mind over the staggering loss, Broska enlists a friend to help try to ease the Captain’s grief.
