Star Trek Day: Lower Decks – Avatar Creation

Description

Boimler, Mariner, Tendi and Rutherford all welcome you to the Lower Decks gang! Chose a character from your Primary Command that has their appearance section completed (or one that already has an image attached to it) to create your own Lower Decks avatar for them.

Criteria

  • Create your own Lower Decks avatar for a character from your primary command (if you don't have a primary command, then you can use a character from Starbase Bravo).
  • Submission requirements:
    - Include a link to your character on BFMS
    - Upload your picture of your Lower Decks character
    - describe why you have chosen the background, held object and side object for your LD avatar (see below for more details)
  • Winners will be received a score out of 10 for:
    - how realistic the LD avatar is to the primary character's description/image attached to it (this includes hair colour/style, facial structure, shape of eyes)
    - choosing the correct uniform division colour
    Total: 20
  • Winners will be received a score out of 10 for describing (in the submission box):
    - choice of object for LD avatar to hold (this needs to be something your character would probably hold/own/use),
    - choice of side object (there has to be some connection with this for your character)
    - choice of background (consider why is this background related to your character)
    Total: 30
  • Winners will be chosen based on how many points they receive out of 50.
    Tie breakers will be based on when submissions are entered (time/date)

I wanted to go for a background that fits her bill, but for some reason was I unable to generate a background for her on the website. However, she is a scientist and the object at her side is a crystal that represent her curiosity of the unknown. The phaser is her tension of the unknown at the same time, she had a rough ride during her career as a Captain so she is less loose about her surroundings.

1. Held Item: Goggles. Marucho is often interacting with the aquatic elements of the ship, therefore, he keeps a pair of goggles on hand so as to not be impeded in his day to day duties

2. Side Object: Drone. Since Marucho tends to be working in the cetacean ops, he occasionally brings along a small probe to light the way

Dese Tycon - USS Sojourner (https://bravofleet.com/character/66810/)

Dese is an Orion and the main flight control officer on board the USS Sojourner.

The avatar closely matchers her physical characteristics. She has green skin with her hair a slightly darker green which appears black in some light. She has often to told she has large doe like eyes so I picked ones that I felt matched her character.

She is physically active, often found in the gym on the ship or the holodeck enjoying various sports so the ratchet was picked.

The background has a galaxy class ship, this was to represent her love of piloting.

I couldn't get the backgrounds to work on mobile or my work computer. Not sure what the deal was, but I wasn't the only one it would seem. I chose the hand phaser (At least that what I think it is? I wasn't too clear on it.) because that's what he'd most likely use. Viewing the device as more of a tool than a straight forward weapon, but also capable enough with it. I chose the Galaxy in the background because commanding vessels is what drives him. Being a leader guiding people. I didn't see a beard option though =/

Background: I went with something plan, he's a no frills type of person. He wouldn't want flashy or anything that stands out

Phaser: a through back to his days in security
Plant: He's a loner, similar to Picard in the early days of TNG. He doesn't socialize with the crew, opting to keep a professional distance. His only companion is his pet cat. So I selected this one as it seemed to fit his character best.

“N’Vea appears to be a standard Vulcan of an athletic build of moderate height (5’10”) only deviating in how she wears her hair preferring it to be slightly longer than is traditional. Wearing it past her shoulders pulling it back when working in sickbay. She has olive skin and was raised on a desert planet so is used to heat and hot climates.”

Background Choice: The backgrounds would not load for me, so it ended up being blank. Ideally given her history on Earth (Harvard and Starfleet Academy) I’d have picked something like the Golden Gate Bridge or an Earth like background. Otherwise I’d have picked the interior of a ship, likely sickbay.

Item (Held) Choice: A medical hypospray is a perfect choice for the good Doctor, as she’s never too far from one.

Item (side) Choice: Since graduating Starfleet Academy Doctor N’Vea has moved around a lot. She also owns very few personal belongings and thus can move about (and does) with only a singular duffle bag so that she does not require much.
