Paradise: The music for Tyva Dal approaching Casperia Prime. It starts soft and beautiful, highlighting the magnificent planet. Soon it turns driving with the beat and lyrics reminding us that Tyva is grieving the loss of her mother. And it ends softer and lighter, allowing us to follow Tyva as she realizes her father is still here and there are still good days ahead.

Kokomo: This goofy vintage song is perfect for Tyva and Jason Ibanez cajoling Ishreth Dal to wear a Hawaiian shirt and come dancing. It has island vibes, a dance beat, and you can imagine the trio dancing on the beach to this bright, upbeat tropical tune.

Take Me To The Beach: This song is stupid. That’s OK because Jason Ibanez is also stupid. He’s slowly realizing that his big shouty personality has left him alone and sad. It’s schmoozy just like Jason, and a bit dissonant and rude, and yet it has an appealing rhythm.

The Cave: Ishreth’s song, he moves past the loss of Tyva’s mother. He realizes the relationships he builds here will buoy him forward. This song starts slow, sad and builds with a driving intensity that holds hope above all else. The instrumental section at the end is him finally letting go and having fun.

Swimming Song: Tyva’s absolutely favorite activity, this is pure unabashed joy of swimming. Simple, bright and beautiful. Grief has faded to folksy joy. It ends with reflection of the changes that have happened this shore leave.

1. Sandstorm
Captures the tempest of the class L world Eldor III. A small party was assigned here. We see two officers flirting romantically, pushing forward the tempo of their relationship like the tempestous rhythm.

2. Doin Time
Represents Task Force 21’s mission on Janoor III. There are lots of outdoor activities based around the summer season. The mood is chill like this song's tone.

3. Fury
Mittens of Might & Fury featured a Caitian kickboxer named Black Fury. These lyrics feature his name. The song's atmosphere captures the fighter's gritty attitude. It even references boxing strikes.

4. Castles in the Sky
The castles mentioned represent the starships above Janoor III. The castles are used in this song to represent dreams. The song is asking why we aspire to reach such heights. The Federation is the ultimate goal for humanity. It almost asks why do we, as writers, strive to build this optimistic vision of the future.

5. Slow Ride
The song fits the theme of travel seen in this arc. Not only was there a bridge post in transit, there was also a ferry voyage. The pace for both trips was relaxed, but energetic like the song. The entire mission is about simply enjoying the ride.

Firstly, we've got, 'Here Comes The Sun' by the beetles. What a classic and something that I can imagine crew listening to while prepping to leave for their vacation. Whether that be in the lead up days prior or whether it be on the shuttle. Maybe they've got a personal listening device so to not disturb others but are excited to get there.

Secondly, Good Vibrations by the beach boys. No sunny holiday would ever be complete without this song. I imagine this would be when they first get to the resort, walking through the foyer, seeing others around enjoying themselves. Just starting to get into their break.

Third, Lovely Day by Bill Withers. This is definitely a song for sat around the pool really relaxing away from the stresses and strains of daily life in Starfleet.

Forth, Sittin on the dock of the Bay by Otis Redding. I mean, what a classic, right? Definitely toward the end of their break with this one, they've had loads of fun, excursions, met new people and generally enjoyed themselves. This would be that final day of sitting around reflecting on everything they did during the break and having that final chill.

To finish things off, Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey. Of course, this would be toward the end, packing those last bits before heading back to the shuttle and home to the ship.

This is my summer vibes playlist. To me, and song on a summer playlist must have an upbeat vibe, the lyrics do not matter for a summer song. Lets be honest, we all know that no one listens to the lyrics kf most song, even when they are singing along.

The beat, melody, and rising triumphant action in all these song cement themselves on all my summer Playlist, and each song is usually easily recognizable by people around. The brave new shores may be the one except for some people, but most have heard it in jingles or commercials and never realized who the song was by. In this way, it also serves as a conversation starter.

In closing all of these songs help the vibes anywhere you are during the summer, and should be essentials for some true summer vibes.
