Echoes of the Final Frontier
Description
Take us to the far edge of known space. In “Echoes of the Final Frontier,” participants will write a short story (max 1,500 words) exploring a mission beyond the Federation’s current borders. The tale should highlight the spirit of exploration, the challenges of first contact, or the personal experiences of Starfleet officers as they venture into the unknown.
Submissions should be written in-character and in-universe (Prime Timeline, circa 2390–2401). Whether hopeful or haunting, we want to hear the voices echoing out from the frontier.
Criteria
- Creativity - Originality of concept and storytelling. (0/5)
- Theme Fit - How well the story explores life at or beyond the final frontier. (0/5)
- Character Depth - Quality and development of characters, including dialogue and emotions. (0/5)
- Writing Quality - Grammar, flow, structure, and clarity of prose. (0/5)
- Impact - Overall emotional or intellectual impression left by the story. (0/5)
- Stories must be written during the competition period and should not be a reuse of an existing story. Stories written before or after the competition begins will be disqualified.
- You're story must be a single author post
- Stories should be between 900 and 1,500 words and must be submitted to BFMS with the entry linked to the published story
