The Counselor’s Call

The Nightfall Incursion was a crisis of existential proportions, one that threatened to undermine the fabric of society, civilizations and even the galaxy itself. While that threat has passed, the Blackout lifting, the Underspace receding and the Vaadwaur retreating, the memories, trauma, and grief will hang around far longer. As crews all across the fleet get back to work, it will be the job of the fleet’s counseling staff to support them through the complex social and emotional issues they will face.

In this competition, you are challenged to create a counseling officer with a fully developed biography. This must be a completely new character, but even if your ship already has a chief counselor, there’s no harm in making an assistant or aide as even small ships are going to need more than one counselor for the traumas the crews of the Fourth Fleet have faced.

Criteria

• The biography must be complete with an overview, personality, appearance, and service record. Images are optional and will not be judged.
• The biography will be assessed on the depth of character development, the fit within the counseling discipline, the mechanical and stylistic strength of the writing, and appropriateness for the setting and genre of Star Trek.
• This biography must be created entirely after this competition opens and before it closes, so there is no reusing of an existing character. This will be judged based on the publication date of the character within the BFMS.
