Following the collapse of the Romulan Star Empire, the Algox Sector has become a delicate blend of independent worlds and refugees fueling the rapid growth of smugglers, pirates, and criminal syndicates. Operating out of Deep Space 12, the Division is Starfleet’s response to the region’s growing instability. She is part security and part diplomacy. Its proximity to the Romulan Free State and Freecloud places the crew at the intersection of Federation interests, Romulan politics, and illegal activity.

The Division is tasked with protecting regional traffic, disrupting piracy, monitoring criminal and political activity, and de-escalating conflicts.
