USS Orpheus is a Gagarin-class heavy escort assigned to the Fourth Fleet’s Lakota Squadron as flagship of Orpheus Heavy Escort Division. Continuing a long and proud legacy, she is the third vessel to bear the name. Constructed in the aftermath of Frontier Day, Orpheus is under the command of Captain Thalek th’Zorati, former commander of the Omaha, promoted to oversee the Division as it begins Rapid Response Operations for the Task Force.

Sleek and well-armed, she leads the frigates Cardenas and Omaha in their operations, rarely operating without the rest of her Division in close pursuit. Supported by the pilots of the Orphean Wraiths Space Superiority Squadron, Orpheus is an indispensable part of the larger squadron unit.
