History

The Trill symbiont Tir, despite being younger than many, has been alive for 147 years. In that time, it has had 4 hosts, three prior to their current joining.

Their prior hosts led distinguished careers in engineering, astronomy, and diplomacy. Tir’s last host served for over a half a century as an ambassador, working tirelessly to strengthen the relationship between Trill and the United Federation of Planets. This posting on Earth lasted for several prosperous decades, during which the ambassador sponsored the first Trill initiate to join Starfleet Academy. After a long life devoted to binding the galaxy closer together, the ambassador’s life came to a close, and Tir rquested a joining with an up and coming Starfleet cadet to continue their service.

Now time for a new host, the Symbiosis Commission saw young Jaxon Novar as an ideal match for the erudite Tir. Novar stood out at the Academy for their exceptional skills in astrophysics, astrometrics and starship tactics. His dream was always to navigate uncharted space as a Starfleet tactical officer. Though on the surface Novar’s area of expertise seemed an odd fit for a former ambassador, the Commission agreed with Tir’s request, seeing an interesting potential in fusing Novar’s raw talent with Tir’s seasoned diplomacy.

The blending of host and symbiont has been a resounding success. Tir lends a contemplative temperament to balance Jaxon’s youthful exuberance, while Jaxon gives Tir a vicarious sense of adventure. Jaxon’s academic excellence complements the centuries of hands-on experience from Tir’s past lives. This symbiosis enables Ensign Jaxon Tir to combine innovative problem-solving with wisdom beyond their years.

Now a commissioned officer, Jaxon Tir draws on this wealth of knowledge in their role as a Tactical Officer. Tir’s past hosts explored many areas of the galaxy, giving Jaxon an almost preternatural sense for stellar cartography and navigation. When diplomacy fails, Jaxon can deftly pivot into combat strategy, leveraging Novar’s expert marksmanship and defensive tactics.

While some were skeptical about blending a green Academy graduate with such an esteemed diplomat, Jaxon Tir is already proving the doubters wrong. The pairing draws out the best in both host and symbiote, giving them the skills of an invaluable officer. With so much potential yet to be unlocked, it is certain this is only the beginning of a storied Starfleet career for Jaxon Tir.
