Early Life (2364-2382)

Jor’an Raune was born on Trill Prime in 2364 after his parents decided to return to their homeworld after settling on Earth near San Francisco. Hearing the stories his parents had about the time his grandmother, who had unfortunately passed while serving in Starfleet, and their stories about the unique and diverse environment in the city of San Francisco, Jor’an found a lot of interest in Starfleet himself, eventually setting himself goals to attend Starfleet Academy in the future.

Jor’an’s upbringing was very traditional, as his family lived in a more rural sector of Trill Prime, a few hundred miles from any larger city, which means that every night, Jor’an had the chance to look up into the sky at the thousands of stars and ponder what other beings were and what life was like for them. This isolation from different parts of the Federation gave Jor’an a drive to succeed in school as it would be the chance he could have to join Starfleet and experience the unknowns that he had been dying to share. 

Starfleet Academy (2382-2386)

Jor’an joined Starfleet in 2382 and, for a short time, was just in awe about everything and everyone, causing him to be incredibly naive regarding information he was given about other species by other Cadets. Through his interests and outgoingness towards the unknown in which he was enthralled at the academy, Jor’an decided to study linguistics, geology and biology to pursue his interests in understanding the different species and cultures of the galaxy.

Throughout his time at the academy, it was noted that his enduring spirit of understanding the things he didn’t know had made him a pretty notable cadet, as his nature to answer the things he didn’t know allowed him to be one of the academically prominent cadets of his year. He eventually landed a junior science officer role when he graduated from Starfleet in 2386. 

Early Career (2386-2393)

Jor’an first posting was aboard the USS Florencia, a Ross-class explorer ship missioned towards the southern side of the Federation and tasked with exploring the biology of a habitable planet near the Kazas star system. Exactly the mission that Jor’an had been dreaming of since childhood, causing his energy levels and drive towards aiding this mission to be highly beneficial to the staff morale within the science labs.

After completing this mission in 2389, Jor’an moved into crew quarters at Star Fleet Headquarters while in-between assignments allowing him to study more of the wildlife of the Earth, especially the nature around San Francisco Bay. 

USS Dalmatia + USS Marquese (2390-2400)

Eventually, Jor’an was assigned to the science ship USS Dalmatia, a Luna-Class light explorer, after a few months as a Science Officer specialising in biology and botany. Although it wasn’t as enjoyable as his first mission, being aboard the USS Dalmatia allowed Jor’an to record a few new species into the Federation archives that he had discovered during the Dalamatia’s journey around the alpha quadrant to document and record possible habitable planets to help secure the Federation’s trade routes.

Through his continued hard-working spirit and ability to keep crew morale up, Jor’an was eventually promoted to Head Science officer of Xeno-Biology, allowing him to regain his former energy levels as he was allowed to collect his samples to study.

After working aboard the USS Dalmatia, Jor’an was later transferred to work onboard the USS Marquese, in the same position he had before, to continue his work on Xeno-biology, this time in the efforts of finding species on other planets that could have the chance to become primitive, or conscious shortly. This mission eventually led to Jor’ans discovering an otter-like species at the beginning of its stone age, causing an immediate evacuation and close-off of the planet to allow the civilisation to foster.

During this time, one of his scientists, a human female from the Earth, gave him the nickname “Jordan”, as she had initially thought that was his actual name. 

USS Aquarius (2400-Present)

After years of work within the field of Xeno-biology and his demonstration of superb leadership skills, Jor’an was later assigned as the Chief Science Officer aboard the USS Aquarius, where he focused on helping find native plantlife and wildlife on Romulan Refugee colonies that could be used for agricultural practices, while also creating technology that can aid the refugee communities too.
