Byron Ward

Byron Ward is a 23-year-old graduate of Starfleet Academy, having started his studies in Command and Control at the age of 17. The driving force behind his joining Starfleet was the attack on Utopia Planitia fleet yards in 2385 and the effect it had on life within Sector 001.  As a security officer of Tranquility base, Byron had to watch his mother wrestle with the fear that a similar attack could target their home and how helpless she felt when the injured officers and civilians started pouring in from Mars. At the age of eight years old, the danger nor the politics at play were easily understood, but from that point, he felt a strong need to help ensure that such a devastating event would not happen to any other planet of the Federation. With a major in Command and Control and further studies in tactical analysis and survival strategies, his lack of real-world experience is offset by a firm grasp of Starfleet security protocols.
