Galan

Galan escaped a difficult life on Vashti to become one of the Federation’s rising stars in linguistics. Though still in his twenties, he carries the emotional weight of someone much older and avoids revealing too much about himself to anyone. In addition to his proficiency with spoken languages, Galan is also skilled in examining written language, in addition to operating communications equipment. When the ship’s mission demands it and when his duties allow, Galan often assists in the social sciences section. In 2400, he was demoted from lieutenant to ensign for assaulting a Romulan passenger aboard the Arcturus in order to extract intelligence necessary for the survival of the ship; he was spared from a much more serious punishment by Admiral Liam Dahlgren, given that the victim was unwilling to testify against him. He has bounced from assignment to assignment and is now posted aboard the starship Apollo.
