Summary
Mark Peter Cross (b. 9th January 2367) is a Starfleet engineer. He was born in the city of Canterbury on Earth to Keith and Kate Cross, both Starfleet officers in their own right.
Mark’s time on Earth was short-lived as duty called for his parents, and he spent the majority of his childhood growing up on vessels of various shapes and sizes.
Appearance
- Height – 6’1″
- Weight – 88kg
Mark’s short brown hair does have the tendency to look a little messy if he doesn’t keep on top of it, which drew the wrath of some of his superiors, especially during his early career, paired up with bright blue eyes. Much to his frustration, he is already finding the occasional grey hair creeping in.
Thanks to a tireless fitness regime, he sports broad shoulders and strong legs and feels like he could give a lot of the Security personnel a run for their money in the gym…although it does make crawling into confined spaces, almost a necessity given his role, a little difficult.
Personality
General Overview
With a mother and father in Starfleet, Mark’s path was practically written for him, and while there was never any pressure on him to follow into the “family business” as such, that’s exactly what he did. He had a curious mind as a child, and his parents thought that maybe he’d go his own way and pursue Science. Eventually, though, he followed his Dad into Engineering, his love for taking things apart and learning how they worked a big factor.
With both parents already in Command positions when Mark attended the Academy, expectations on the young Cadet were high. He carried a strong work ethic into his studies, and while he didn’t come out top of his class, he negotiated it successfully, and his calm, laid-back attitude made him very likeable amongst his peers.
Determined and career-driven, and always willing to learn something new, Mark was determined to hit the ground running from minute one.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Mark is a tireless worker who strives to be a perennial overachiever. He is a fast learner, friendly and sociable. At times, however, he can seem a little too casual, which can land him in hot water with superiors and can unintentionally come across as unprofessional. He is impulsive, relying on self-confidence that can occasionally border on arrogance, and despite his laid-back nature, has a bit of a short fuse that tends to appear in high-pressure situations.
Ambitions
Mark aspires to one day hold his own command, and start a family. Eventually, he wants to lecture at Starfleet Academy, helping to bring through the next generation of Starfleet officers.
Hobbies and Interests
He enjoys cooking, and playing guitar. He keeps on top of his fitness, enjoys playing a range of sports, and has a keen interest in piloting and flying, from within the safety of the holodeck.
