Theodore Hawthorne

A highly qualified engineer and scientist, Lieutenant Hawthorne is a celebrated and respected researcher who produced key work on the NX program and the modern design and development of Starfleet vessels. With R&D in his particular fields stalled during the Romulan War, Hawthorne has been transferred to serve as Chief Engineer on the Phoenix NX-08. While Lieutenant Hawthorne is in many ways over-qualified for this post, his lack of practical experience in an engine room and his notoriously difficult and arrogant manner have made other captains loath to take him on, despite all his expertise.
