Knelzi

Knelzi is a Starfleet officer assigned as executive officer of the USS Hypatia. She is an energetic and exceptionally accomplished scientist. A brilliant polymath, she holds doctorates in astrophysics, exobiology, applied geometry, comparative history and xenological studies. Her breadth of knowledge allows her to move easily between the ship’s scientific disciplines, often identifying connections that more specialised researchers overlook.

Knelzi is relentlessly optimistic, enormously enthusiastic and deeply committed to Starfleet’s ideals of exploration and discovery. Exceptionally organised, she prepares detailed plans for almost every eventuality and takes genuine pleasure in schedules, research proposals and meticulously assembled briefing folders. She celebrates the achievements of others with infectious enthusiasm and knows an extraordinary amount about the careers, interests and ambitions of those serving alongside her.

Her boundless energy can sometimes become overwhelming. Knelzi has a tendency to overcommit herself, become personally invested in other people’s problems and continue working long after everyone else has exhausted themselves. She can be stubborn, competitive and overly determined when she believes an idea will benefit the crew. Nevertheless, her loyalty is absolute, her intentions are always generous, and she will work harder than anyone to help those around her succeed. Captain Rovak may frequently object to her elaborate plans and relentless positivity, but Knelzi regards his resistance as an invitation to return with stronger evidence and an even more detailed proposal.
