Kaelen Rix

Rix is the sort of tactical/security officer who trusts people straight away. Having grown up in deep space on board a Federation Starship, he understands that a crew is more than a collection of officers and departments, it’s a community. As a result he tends to know his fellow officers personally rather than simply professionally and takes the time to build trust long before he ever needs to rely on it.

Unlike many tactical/security chiefs, Rix possesses a calm confidence rather than a rigid military style baring. He holds the belief that understanding a situation is usually more valuable than overwhelming it, and is often at his best when dealing with unpredictable people, animals or environments. He has a talent for reading behaviour and spotting trouble early.

Despite holding a senior position so early in his career, he had little interest in appearances or prestige. He is most comfortable working side by side with his team than controlling from a distance.

Hobbies and Interests

He’s a keen outdoorsman and spends much of his free time in holodeck wilderness programs on planets throughout the quadrant and far removed from a Starship. He has a particular affinity for animals and enjoys studying them and their behaviour.
