Henry Pendergast

Henry Pendergast serves as the Chief Tactical Officer aboard the USS Spector, bringing together Starfleet professionalism and the distinctive charm of his Hysperian upbringing. He is known for his courtesy, optimism and unwavering sense of honour.

Henry Pendergast is, in many ways, a man out of time. Raised on Hysperia, as with the rest of his culture he embraces many of the romantic ideals of chivalry, honour and personal conduct. He carries these with him into his Starfleet career with a complete sincerity. He is courteous to a fault, unfailingly polite and possesses a strong sense of personal integrity. While some initially mistake his mannerisms for eccentricity or affectation, it quickly becomes apparent that Henry is entirely genuine.

Possessing a natural charisma, Henry is comfortable in social situations and often serves as a bridge between opposite personalities aboard the USS Spector. He has an easy confidence that puts others at ease, coupled with an optimistic outlook that allows him to see possibilities where others see blockers. Henry believes in the best of people until given a reason not too.

Beneath all of his charm lies a capable and disciplined officer. He takes his responsibilities seriously and approaches tactical problems with a strategic mind. While he enjoys the dramatic flourishes of his Hysperian heritage, he is neither reckless or naive. He confidence comes from a genuine belief that courage, preparation and determination can overcome most challenges.

At his core, Henry is an idealist. He believes in exploration, friendship and honour still have a place in the galaxy. Whether standing watch on the bridge or attending a social gathering in one of his elaborately styled civilian outfits, he remains unapologetically himself.

Hobbies and Interests

Henry’s hobbies and interest are a natural extension of his Hysperian upbringing and romantic view of the galaxy. Outside of duty hours, he embraces the traditions of his homeworld, often attending social gatherings in elaborate civilian attire complete with his trademark top hat and cravat. He enjoys storytelling, fencing and the performing arts.

He is also an avid reader of adventure literature and historical accounts of exploration, drawn from to tales of daring voyages, heroic deeds and noble characters. For Henry, these pursuits are reminders that life should be lived with both purpose and a sense of wonder.
