History
Koven was born in Laibok Province on Andoria into a family with a longstanding tradition of military service within the Andorian Imperial Guard. From an early age, he was immersed in a culture that valued discipline, combat readiness, and personal honor.
While initially expected to pursue a career within the Imperial Guard, Koven chose Starfleet in order to test his abilities in a broader, more diverse operational environment. At Starfleet Academy, he specialized in Tactical, quickly distinguishing himself through combat simulations and competitive training exercises. His performance was marked by rapid decision-making and an instinctive understanding of battlefield dynamics.
Following graduation, Koven was assigned to an Akira class starship operating in border patrol and rapid response missions. There, he gained practical experience in live tactical engagements, demonstrating an ability to adapt quickly to shifting combat conditions. His conduct during several engagements earned him both commendation and scrutiny for his aggressive tendencies.
Recognizing his potential but also the need to refine his command discipline, Starfleet advanced him to Chief Tactical Officer aboard the USS Valorous. The assignment placed him under Commanding Officer Ezra Brady who shared a tactical background.
