Summary
Lt Cdr. Helena Rourke is a Risan Starfleet Officer serving as the CAG for The Revenants, the USS Spector’s dedicated fighter squadron. Warm, poised and disarmingly charming while off duty, Rourke carries herself with the confidence. In the cockpit, her calmness becomes razor sharp focus, a disciplined tactician and protective commander.
Appearance
Height: 5’6”
Build: Athletic
Eye colour: Green eyes
Hair colour: Blonde
Scars: None
Tattoos and piercings: Ears
Description: Athletic and toned, shaped by years of flight training, combat readiness and the physical demands of life in Starfleet. She is known for her fairly rugged appearance but carries herself with relaxed confidence. Though, unmistakably attractive, Rourke’s appearance is not soft or ornamental. She had a hard-edged quality. Sharpened by confidence, experience and a hint of danger.
While on duty, she typically wears the command-trimmed Starfleet uniform when not in her flight suit. Which is often paired with her black flight jacket bearing The Revenants squadron patch. She is often described as someone who has survived more than she talks about, laughs louder than she should and would rather be in a cockpit than explain what is on her mind.
Personality
Helena Rourke is confident, sharp-tongued, competitive and fiercely loyal. Shw carries herself with the swagger of a pilot who knows exactly how good she is and she barely bothers to hide it. Off duty, she can be warm, charming, flirtatious and disarmingly funny but her humour often serves as her armour. She is quick to provoke, slow to trust and far more vulnerable than she allows most people to see.
As the Commander Air Group (CAG), Rourke demands excellence from The Revenants. She pushes her pilots hard, expects courage under pressure and had very little patience for excuses. Her command style can be abrasive but is rooted in protectiveness. She may shout and challenge her pilots but she would risk everything to bring them home.
In the Cockpit, Rourke is calm and instinctive. She respects procedure but she is certainly not bound by it when lives are on the line. Her willingness to take risks makes her brilliant in a crisis but can be a little difficult for her senior officers to manage.
Rourke is at her best when the odds are impossible. She is brave, loyal, inspiring and sometimes self-destructive. She does not always know how to be still or how to forgive herself, but she knows how to fight and how to fly. Which makes the squadron under her command believe they can survive anything.
