His want to explore the galaxy goes further than the traditional Klowahkan mission to “Explore strange new tastes.” He is naturally inquisitive about the galaxy which makes him an ideal explorer.

Upon joining Starfleet, Dromi, was initially nervous around other species as he expected resistance due to his not following of the traditional Klowahkan food-related careers. However, he quickly realised that this was isolated to within his species and found his place around others quickly. Though, when around other members of the Klowahkan species, he does still tend to go within himself or avoid them completely.

While he had chosen a career frowned upon, as with others of his species, he is obsessed with food. He puts his natural abilities as a pilot and navigation officer down to him wanting to explore the galaxy in search of new tastes. When off duty he is most likely found propped against the bar in the Event Horizon to try whatever delicacies the chefs have prepared that day.

Hobbies and Interests

He rarely misses the ‘Vesh’tor Rejoining’. On his home world of Klowahkan, the first triple-tide of March is marked as the ‘Vesh’tor Rejoining’. It’s a day that celebrates the species’ oldest promise: no voice is left unheard. As the planets moons align the seas climb into the mangrove basins and briefly connect far-flung lagoons. Families, guilds and Klowakhans off world return to their birth areas to trade news, settle disputes and formally ‘re-join’ with those they have not spoken with since the last cycle. The observance is led by tide-keepers, but everyone participates. Even off world species have often been invited to take the listening walk, a quiet procession along the waterline where words are not spoken. Bioluminescent spheres are released as lanterns into the incoming surge while participants dine on the ‘Taste of Three Waters’ which is a fermented sea fruit and salted bread whose recipes can only be made when the lagoons mingle.

Early Life (2377-2397)

He has a typical upbringing on Klowahka, his family were not revered food critics but they, as the rest of the species, were almost obsessed with food. Dromi was raised in this manner as were his siblings. But he longed for more. He wanted to break away from his species and travel the galaxy.

Starfleet Academy – San Francisco, Earth (2397-2401)

Dromi joined Starfleet aged 20 years old and attended the Academy on Earth. He majored in Flight control, becoming a capable pilot but also minored in the Sciences, specifically that of Stellar Cartography. Initially nervous around other species as he expected resistance due to him not following the traditional Klowahkan food related careers. However, he quickly realised that this was isolated to within his species.

USS Sheffield (2401-2403)

As a newly promoted Ensign, they took an assignment as a Flight Control Officer aboard the Grissom class surveyor USS Sheffield. Specialising in small craft operations during his two years in post.

USS Horizon (2403-Present)

He transferred to the USS Horizon in 2403 to support Starfleet’s exploration of the Shackleton Expanse. While a capable pilot, he applied for the position of navigation officer on board. A position usually filled by a member of the Science Division, though he is fully qualified in Stellar Cartography.

He remains an ensign due to a lack of seniority but hopes to have a better exploratory experience and prospects on board the Horizon.
